Favorite type of RP: My role play taste is quite diverse, though I tend to avoid 1x1 or anything with a limited amount of role players. I enjoy Fantasy & Fandom based role plays for both humans and animals.
      Roleplay sample:
      Image

For awhile there was a silence that grew in the spaces between them in which Scarlet spent absentmindedly picking at her fingernails. The truck made its way behind a -rather sketchy looking- bar before rolling to a stop under the cover of some trees. She waited for John to collect his thoughts; waited for so long she thought he wasn't going to say anything at all just..sit there. She felt a pang of fear hit her in the chest, so strong she groaned, forcing the noise out as quietly as possible. Scarlet was a fairly patient girl, but through her fear awoke a desperate impatience, toying with her mind. Did I say something wrong? I-I just thought I was..maybe I wasn't, maybe I really made it worse. Oh god what if he.. Finally she couldn't stand it anymore. She peeled her eyes from her lap and looked over at him with a bold look in her eye. That is..before she felt the emotional strength she'd spent the last few seconds gathering crumple when their eyes met. Her chest constricted, all the breath she'd been holding in sucked right out of her lungs.

Looking back on that moment, Scarlet would never fully be able to describe the look in his eyes. His hand, -placed every so gently on top of hers- and the tenderness, the emotional vulnerability in his eyes..it touched a part of Scarlet that had never been touched before. A part of her that she hadn't even know existed; something separate from lust, something that scared the young red-head beyond words because it suddenly felt so right.

She listened to him, so still she swore she felt her own heartbeat stop in her chest for fear of ruining the moment. She watched him while he spoke, his long dirty blonde hair draping into his eyes, the carefree smile that touched his lips. In that instant, watching him like that, it was like the stress, the anxiety, the fear, confusion, and pain just..left her. There one second and gone the next; replaced with something that just seemed to fit inside her like the final piece of a puzzle she'd been trying to figure out without knowing it. She felt her lips tilt upwards. Not a beaming smile of joy but a smile of..relief. It was hard not to break out into such a wide smile but the action didn't feel appropriate in the current situation. He was trying to tell her something, something important.

He paused in his speech, and Scarlet suddenly knew that this was it. The serious tone that he used told her so. She felt -rather then saw- his hands move from her's up to her face, the warmth under his fingertips sinking into her skin, comforting her. This time she didn't feel a jolt of surprise. The fact was, she wasn't surprised at all; not anymore. She closed her eyes, listening to the raspiness of his voice, and feeling the softness of his callused fingers trace the lines of her cheekbones. She supposed she should be concerned, worried even, about what he was saying but the funny thing was..she wasn't. She mentally pulled herself away from his touch before opening her eyes and reaching up to grasp his hands, pulling them away from her face and holding them gently in her own.

"You could never scare me away. No matter how pestering I am or how demanding I can be..you can't get rid of me that easily." She chuckled, genuine humor in her voice. Her wide smile shrunk slightly and she bit her lip before letting her teeth slide off of the skin; adopting the same gentle whisper he had used before resuming her speech.

"I'm not the same girl anymore John. I'm not the same wide-eyed, fifteen year old girl from across the street that rainy afternoon. That girl disappeared a long time ago. After the accident, when you came to visit me in the Hospital and I said that I wanted to go with you, that was my decision, not her's. That was the day that I chose to leave my family behind to follow you to..this. And you know what? I don't regret it in the slightest. These past few days I've felt, lost, like a part of me was missing. I didn't know what it was. I thought I felt a glimpse of it that night driving home from the Hospital, or walking out of your dorm, seeing you wrestle with Austin. But just now sitting here with you in this truck, I think I finally know what it is." Still holding on to his hands she looked to the side, her hair shielding her facial features from sight. She felt a prickle of fear lodge itself in her stomach but almost as soon as it had appear it was consumed in the wave of emotion rocking back and forth within her body. She breathed in, and then out. Once, twice, three times. Goodbye Scarlet, the scared little girl afraid of her own shadow. This is the new Scarlet, the new Scarlet who's ready to embrace the world. She brushed her hair behind her ears to reveal her face, though it was still turned away from him, her eyes closed.

"It's you John, it's always been you." Her voice was quiet, but not quiet enough that he couldn't hear it. With one final breath, anything within her that remained tainted by the old Scarlet was dispelled from her body as she exhaled; vanished, and never to be heard from again. With her first breath as the new Scarlet, she did something that the old Scarlet never would have been able to do, heck, probably never would have been able to feel. She said the words that she felt tingling in every fiber of her body, driving her heartbeat to pound louder and louder like a racing drum in her chest. She moved her head so it faced him, opening her eyes. However, unknown to her they didn't shine their usual forest green, instead the shined the most beautiful shade of orange. Never before had her eyes changed this color, dim in color and mixed with flecks of hazel. But then again Scarlet had never quite felt like this either. She raised her eyes from their hands to his face, looking into his eyes and what lay beyond them.
"I..I think I'm falling in love with you."

If you're reading it then looks like you've taken an interested in getting to know me though I can't imagine why you would possibly do something like that. I'm a teenage girl with too many fandoms to count, too many interested to include in a signature, and all in all multiple obsessions that have pretty much ruined my life.

I'm a Canadian and proud to be one. I can assure you I most certainly do not ride polar bears or live in an igloo though that does sound pretty awesome. I aspire to be a writer, so I very much enjoy RPing though my grammar's atrocious. Overall I'm a fairly normal gal with a tendency to ramble, but don't let that scare you off! If anything here has peaked your interest then please feel free to shoot me a PM.

Omg, no, not grammatical errors, haha. I was talking more about writing style critique and stuff. Like, how well it flows, how engaging it is, and stuff like that there. It's ok if you can't/don't want to, tho, I'm not pressuring you. u3u

Sure i'll help you out! I need practise at critiquing anyway.
Only if you want though(?) -I'm at college now being a ninja so pm it to me if you'd like me to take a look and i'll get it back to you this evening/afternoon.

Also, whoever suggested a warrior cat hunger game thing? Aweeeesome.
I'd be interested (not neccessarily join mind you, this thing called real life wants my attention at the moment)

thorrissia wrote:Sadly I can't find a suitable layout for the warriors hunger games T T But I have major ideas for a different rp :) One that I can set out properly.

It is a werewolf thing, but not a typical wolf vs vampire thing. I'm bored of those. It will have a limit of three spaces and will take place in a care home somewhere (I haven't quite decided on where yet) and will begin when a new kid arrives. This child is a 'pure-blood' wolf and has been born that way. They lost their parents and the rest of their pack and ended up in care. At the full moon two of the residents venture out into the woods outside for a dare or something of that nature. Both these kids are accidentally bitten by the wolf who thinks the kids are attacking. They then see this as a way to escape from the horrors of life in the care home and form a pack. However they end up getting into a lot of trouble and adventures :)

What do you all think?

I will have to play the pure-blood wolf so the others can learn about wolf customs, but other than that the other two characters will be open for anyone :) I think they are going to be male and female.

I think I may be interested.

I asked this a few pages back, but didn't get a response, but i'm going to ask again regardless.

When you have a 1x1 (or group) roleplay is there a certain style you enjoy to read more than others? For example, I write in metaphor occasionally (as in my entire posts, not just the occasional metaphor in my posts) but more often I don't, I just write ...normally(?) But you guys know what I mean, right?
Also do people find their styles change around from rp to rp?

[Side note: if people haven't answered the poll could they please do it ASAP,I would really appreciate it.]

that's an interesting question, pandle. i find that sometimes i write more simply for some role plays while in others my brain is about to burst with similes/metaphors/alliteration/symbolism.

I really like first person POV of roleplaying, I find that it gives you more insight to your character and their emotions/feelings, and also to the character(s) you're roleplaying with. To me it gives a character more inner reflection, and helps to see their true colors more clearly. It also helps thought processing when it comes to characters, and it makes it easier and quicker to determine the true description of your characters' personality. A lot of people dislike first person however, so I typically write in third (to help fit in better) however my posts tend to be a lot better when speaking in first.

I actually (almost a year ago) asked a couple of the mods to do that when they messaged me about a copyrighted image I had used. They said that it was a good idea, but they never got around to following it through I guess. So that's a "Yes" for moi. c:

Zmi and I are making a new small group roleplay focusing on a small village deep in a forest of cedars and pines. The village is populated by both werewolves and humans, but every day is tense and full of distrust. The werewolves are lashing out at the humans, controlled by their natural dominant instinct. When a black cat-like creature that was once believed a myth attacks on of their people - and kills her - the residents of the village are distracted from their disputes. One after another, the civilians are going missing. The king is sick of their complaints and stories, so he comes down to see for himself. 'I'll only believe it when I see it myself,' he says. None of them had actually seen the creature, but the black goo-like substance that was discovered on the burnt and battered bodies was enough to send them into a frenzy. When the king himself - and the nights that were with him - are also attacked by the creature, it's clear that they aren't being taken out by anything small or weak. Only the king and a couple of his guards survive the attack, but they are all seriously injured and near death once they are found. As they are being nursed back to health, more people are being picked off, and a hunt for the vicious animal ensues.

There will be somewhat pre-made characters. There will be roles available for you to choose from, but from there you can give your characters whatever personality/name and all that jazz (ninja is wearing off on me xD).

The roles are:
♂ The prince - human (taken - cloudy)
♀ The little sister - human(taken - wolfie)
♂ The knight - human(open)
♀ The mage - human (taken - zmi)
♂ The mystery - wolf (taken - wolfie)
♀ The she-wolf - wolf (undecided)
♂ The goof - wolf (taken - zmi)
♀ The rebel - wolf (undecided)

I guess I don't put a lot of symbolism/figurative language in my posts due to the fact I don't sit for hours thinking of what to write; I just sit down, write it, post it. I tend to try and think of words to use other than your average mad/sad/scared stuff, obviously, but other than that... Eh. I do try and portray my character best as I can, so the way I write may differ slightly, but nothing huge.
I tend not to be too picky about other people's for this reason too; if I don't use it, I can't harp on someone else for not using it
