Re: The Semi-Literate to Literate Roleplayer's Club (V2)

Postby Pandle » Thu Feb 07, 2013 9:07 pm

Hey so i've been thinking and rereading some of my old Latin work. I was inspired by the earlier discussion of names and someone mentioned "nemo" and then I was off doing all sorts of research. But it gave me an idea for either a 1x1 or a small group (I mean small group, i cannot deal with large groups any more).
It would be called "Finding nemo" -but it won't involve a clown fish who leaves the reef xD. I imagine is as post-apocalypse or during WWI or WWII. Either way there's ensuing world chaos. The translation is of couse "Finding no-one" and I feel it would be a romance roleplay or, at least, a moving one. I have some sketchy ideas I can put together if anyone is interested, or you can message me and we can work things out together. So...yush. Uh. Let me know if anyone is interested.

Is there anyone willing to help me with the coding for my GOT roleplay? I technically need a co-owner too but I just wanna make it look nice for now.
Having serious issues viewing dark colours at the moment. May delay replys to pms. Sorry.

The Leopard Pups
Grey, Black and White. The world revolves and we go with it. Twisting in this everlasting monotony, eyes of green and gold, watching and waiting for our chance, our time. Cytor, Liliana, Serenade, Bayonet, the Prankster, the sweet one, the mother and the lost soul. There birth was a lost event, one in a million, two wandering souls met in the shadows, and these four were created. There pups are the stuff of legend, one lost there sight, one lost there path, one lost there love and the other? The other lost his family, everyone they cared about. He lost his family.

What is a cake pop? o.O

Is there any interest in this?

Talia23 wrote:
Amara

An alternate world, a magical world which defies reality, common sense, space, and time.
It is accessed by a program called H.A.I.N : Heteropathy Alto Intelligence Nano
The alternate reality has been dubbed 'Amara'; which is because Amara means 'unfading eternal' and seeing as this place is essentially an infinitely existing place, the name appeared fitting at the time of its discovery.

People are told to think of it like a mmo game, but it is far more complex and better than that.
A normal person only has to pay a certain fee a month, and you can go any day of the week, for the month's you have paid for, to special facilities around the world where you can enter the 'game'.
All you have to do is accept a serum each time and it'll transport you to the world of Amara; don't worry you can log out at any time you wish.

This is your chance to experience a world of magic!
You can relax after work, or school by 'playing' for a few hours, and the more time you spend there, the less money you have to pay a month. Eventually we're happy to allow you to not pay us anything at all!
Of course there are levels, missions, and quests to go through, as well as items. You can tame pets if you increase the skills associated with that, (skill, speed, stamina, mana, and being generally friendly/kind), but you can't tame more than five creatures.
Really this 'game' is endless, you can try and find limits if you want to, but so far none have been found.
When you visit Amara you may even get a new ability or power. So creating an account and going to Amara is very exciting, you could get wings, or learn to control fire, or even heal things to perfect health!
There are jobs you can take up if you so desire, like for example a blacksmith job. However jobs usually require you to be online more often than most people, so we recommend longer session times instead of lots of log ins and outs, since after 30 serums in a month, you have to pay double the normal price to get another.

All you have to do is get a nano chip inserted in your brain, and then to access the 'game', just travel to the nearest facility (of which there are thousands of per country, the larger the country, the more places there are to access the 'game') and receive a serum dose, from there, it takes around two minutes for you to enter Amara, and there is a two days and ten hours time difference between Earth and Amara.

That is what we tell the public to entice them. However there are secrets about Amara you should never have the opportunity to find out about.
Once you sign the contract, we hold no responsibility to what happens to you 'in game'.

You may think you sit on a chair, and travel to a world and go about just like you're really there, but that's just it, you really are there. Your entire self is severed from your body, and we use the latest technology to care for your body until you log out, then we prepare your 'Earth self' for you to come back.

This isn't really a game, you are playing with your lives, Amara is a highly addictive game, the more you log on and off, the harder it is to do so. Even if you manage to resist the desire to stay logged in, your body can't take it after a while. After a year of you not logging out, we will remove your ability to do so, therefore you are forever stuck 'in game'.

This is a secret way of the government reducing the human population without actually killing anyone. Although, you can actually be killed in Amara. That doesn't need to be known though. There is nothing wrong with this method, besides, these people want to enjoy the magical world, and it's a much better place than Earth. We are doing them a favour by preventing them from coming back after a while.

This is a rough intro to the roleplay.
It is semi-lit, and I think four paragraphs or more would be good each post, unless you have wb, so it'd be a bit relaxed in length.
I haven't sorted out the rough edges quite yet, but I'd like to know if there'd be interest or not.

I know it's not looking nice so far, it's a lot to read since it's a large block of letters, but I'll fix it up a bit by adding a picture (maybe) and changing the title to looking better or something; to make it a little more visually appealing.
*pokes city* This is what I want you to help with. I want your coding skills for this please! (pm me city)
If you guys can't read the small writing I'll make it larger. I just didn't know what else to do with that bit.:/

      Form
      Username: django.
Favorite type of RP: western (yes, really) & darker realism.
      Roleplay sample:
Kevin just shook his head. Nothing. No-one. Never mind. In another closet he found a couple of dusty candles and lit them immediately. The smell of hot dust was rank, but it was better than the alternative. He dotted the candles around the room so they gave a good spread of light for when it got darker. Kevin needed to do something – anything – get his mind off what he had seen. Poor man probably got a shot to the stomach with something small, started bleeding out slowly. God knows how long he’d been in there – could be anywhere from a dreadfully painful couple of days, or a few hours. While some of the blood was bound to have clotted up, the acid in the stomach sure as hell wouldn't. That was probably why it stunk so badly. Kevin didn't want to know all of what must have been happening inside of him, he really didn't.

Kevin pushed open a lot of the windows, and when they wouldn't open, he smashed them open. He practically stomped around. “We shouldn't have come here,” he murmured grimly, grabbing a pot to act as a doorstop and keep it wide open. His knuckles were white around the gun, and he left the building and started over to the well. Dropping the bucket over the edge, he waited for it to fill. His jaw was still set and firm, with grit teeth and sharp breaths through his nose. Maybe some poor bum had jumped at the idea of a nice looking house and moved in. Maybe Kevin’s gang had come looking for them. Maybe they’d found the wrong guy. A tussle and a shot. They’d have fled the scene as fast as anything. Kevin wheeled up the water bucket and carried it sloppily over to the house. He nearly slammed it on the kitchen table with his gun before collapsing into a chair, engulfing his face into his hands. Pulling his hot fingers across his face, he took a long, slow exhale and sat up properly. “Don’t go in the back room.” Kevin said sternly.

Any semi-lit/lit RPs you have: nah. I got an ad up though, here

@nosebleed and @infinite stars
Awesome!
I was worried noone would like it; it's great there's some interest!

I'll do that then, do you guys want one or two character spots reserved?
(I was thinking one-two characters per roleplayer (not including pets) )
Do you guys want me to put a link to the roleplay here? It's still a bit of a wip getting the rough edges trimmed and making it look a little more appealing, but you might want to bookmark it if you're interested.

*glomp* Talia, I'd be interested as well. Sounds very intriguing, a bit like Surrogates crossed with, like, Inkheart. :3
INSANELY BUSY!
I am moving! For the next month or so, I am going to be so very busy.
If I'm on here, it's because I'm unwinding with writing or pets or whatever.
Please do not add to my stress, if you can. Your support is appreciated.
