I honestly think that's childish of Giffsnuff,
if people BUY the art, they have every right to sell it, honest some people get to butthurt over a character they made fanart of getting sold and end up deleting it anyways.
don't change the rules for that, honestly people will only say yes we should to get characters cheaper.

Some people have creative commons licenses on their work, many of which saying that commerical use is not allowed, so basically, reselling. And it goes against some laws somewhere in lawland probably maybe I don't know.

I don't think it's solely an ethical issue, there's the copyright side as well.

Gah, this is too conflicting for me to make a final verdict on.

I feel like....art should come with the character. ._. I mean, I was given a character, and about a week later the person was like, "Hey here's some art I found of her!" The original artist was glad to put that I was the new owner of her. It wouldn't make me upset if someone sold a character I've done art of. It's their art, they payed for it ^^; ah and especially if it's free art ^^ But if it's free you shouldn't charge more for it lol I'm contradicting myself.

I don't know, there are cons and pros to both sides and we'd really need a debate about this.
It can't be resolves easily you know.

Its different if you made the adopts yourself, and all the art yourself, thats your problem if you want to sell them all.
But if someone else made that art it could be pretty insulting to them.

Charging more for the more art a character has, or no?
I'm not really sure what to say on it. It's kind of, well, disrespectful in a way.
I think this is kind of important, even if we don't charge real money (though some do).

I think people just need to realize that the art they get of a character is at their own cost. I for one never charge more for art. I charge based on the design and how much I want to get rid of it. I think art should be one of those 'buy one get one free' type deals. You buy the character, you get the art. No extra cost.
Many people might disagree with me on this but....whatever. I don't care.

I don't agree on charging more for each peice of art, but charging more for the art overall I really don't see the big deal....

Well, for my opinion on this subject-

I think it is both a good and bad idea, depending on what art.
Like lets say, if i have a medium good design, with 3 pieces of my art, i would defiantly sell it for what i would sell the design for itself, plus like, 1/3 of that. So basically 1 1/3 of what i would originally charge.
To me, if it is by the same person, it is generally going to be less valued then be different people.
I do agree that you should charge more, but not too much more, if it is your own art.

If i had a character with 50 pieces of art, from different people, yea, i would defiantly charge more, since it would have taken time and money/points/pets/designs to get all that art. Especially if it was all really high quality, as well. I don't know how much i would charge extra for those, but i would definatly charge more then i would if it had 3 pieces. Since it's more then someone can gather up in 2 days (since some people just randomly order art to try to get more on a char) it has more value.

I charge my character depending on the design, and the over all art pieces.

If my character had one piece of art, I wouldn't increase the pay.

But if my character had 7-8, I would.

I don't see the problem with selling customs you got, you paid for them, they become your property.
