When coming up with designs for Characters, do you have a tendency to listen to music? If so, how does it affect the design's outcome?

I always have a song stuck in my head, so does that count? xD I usually end up following the song's theme; Like, if the song's basic theme is water, I'll be digging around with aquas and purples (and blues, I guess, but I can't tell xD). If it's an angry song, I use more of a warm palette with harder, edgier designs.

sometimes. When i know what kind of character i want, i listen to music to inspire that idea. It helps the outcome alot!

HahaXD yeps!!! I'm the kinda girl who always is singing/trying to memorize/listening to music, and.... yeah. My character who's still anmed "Circus Monster," as I can't think of good names, and I reposted several times with no responce, so no one wants to help... so... mabye she's doomedXD but her whole design is bassed off of the song Circus monster (duh)
They also influence the characters personality/history a lot...

(Because fan art.....by me.....needs references. Sadly, i can't (not won't) do characters i don't feel an art connection with, so it's not like you can give me a random character to draw and it will turn out amazing. I'm not that good...yet.)

sometimes. When i know what kind of character i want, i listen to music to inspire that idea. It helps the outcome alot!

Is there one predominate color palette among your characters? And if so, why are you attracted to such a scheme?

I apparently love greys (silver and dark) and browns. o-o; There's so many of my characters that are colored like that. I know the reason for the greys - I love it, and I love animals that are grey. As for browns... I guess I just tend to gravitate toward natural designs in the species and types I adopt, which usually end up being browns and tans.
