Here's the first adoptable of the species I created, if anyone is interested. viewtopic.php?f=53&t=1262838 His coloration ideas were basically just random hues of blues, purples, and greys. XP
Also, I'm working on a new character. I'm thinking that I might create a roleplay with different tribes/packs of wild dog-like animals, and he could be the leader of one of them or something. XD Eh, the idea is a serious work in progress at the time. This is the lineart for him, and he's going to be different brown and black colors, and he'll have war paint/tribal markings. X]

Well, you guys are probably the best to ask about this.

Just out of curiosity, what do you think of my species? Would you adopt one? Are my guidelines too strict for their coloring and behavior? And should I make premades and somehow adopt them out or just give some specific rules and allow people to make their own? [perhaps have them ask permission first or I need to approve them or something?] And is there anything you think I should change about them?
They're called Ryn, btw. Might change the name.

Pretty much they're intelligent, deer-like animals that wear masks to blind themselves for most of the year. They tend to be very peaceful and live in communities of around 15-30, although small splinter groups also exist and the largest communities can easily exceed 50+ members. They can live to be anywhere from 70- 100 years old, and young ryn mature slowly, reaching adulthood at 30 years old. This is marked by the growth of a second pair of antlers, usually just a small knob below the original set that will continue to grow slowly throughout the remainder of their lives.
Masks are usually only removed for festival days, such as the beginning of spring. The idea is something along the lines of appreciating their sight more, and some sort of sacrifice to whatever spirits they believe in. Still working that out. They have a lot of traditions, although some groups reject them and either do not wear masks or remove them as they please.
Coloring wise, they almost always have a white base coat with some sort of spotting ranging from blonde to brown to, most commonly, black. Their coats can also have various accents, with colors ranging from dull brown or gray to purple and blue. Masks are usually solid colored or have very simple patterns.
They also appoint several members of communities as guards and mask makers, and a few other positions that would otherwise be difficult for a blind animal. These ryn still wear masks, but their masks have cut outs for the eyes. Beyond that, ryn have adapted well to their lack of sight, with many even choosing to live in trees far off the ground. They recognize eachother by sound and smell.
