I know more about the 19th century. Now I'm curious .-. I would think the men who could actually afford it could. Farmer kids and everything would more than likely go for a certain time until it was time to harvest.

Right. Right? .-. I probably sound dumb .-. The 19th century interests me though. Shame. >.< I'm kind of throwing out what I remember from history (which is more than likely inaccurate because I have terrible memory .-.)

I mean I understand how its like that, but if you know absolutely nothing about the subject, especially that sort of subject, [in my opinion] its a bit offensive. I mean, they could at least research it.. .
If you know your stuff and want to do a military role-play, go for it! I'm all for that. Its just the ones who know nothing about what it means to be over seas.
I mean, you don't go over there to fall in love and lounge around :B

I'm always pushing for writers to research. Even when it comes to simple things like knowing what the average height for a US male is, or looking up a height/weight chart.

You also have to think about the age group the majority of the site is, though. Little kids romanticize their parents jobs without really knowing it.

I had to do that before. I have no idea what people should weigh xP
And it is also why I refuse to play any character with any sort of disorder or condition. I'm afraid I;d mess up, even with research.

I have this new roleplay. It's not quite open yet, but I'm taking reservations.

Loosely based on Psychomachia, the Seven Deadly Sins and Seven Heavenly Virtues have been feuding since the beginning of time. What happens when a Vice and a Virtue fall in love? Will the rest follow suit? Will it last? When Wrath visits a tarot reader, a curse is cast on the Vices and Virtues, slowly turning them into animals. The opposite forces must come to together to find a way to break the curse.

I will assign the Vice and Virtue that initially fall in love after all the slots are filled.

Avarice - toad
Pride - peacock
Gluttony - pig
Sloth - snail
Envy - snake
Lust - goat

Virtues
Patience - lamb
Charity - dove
Humility - deer
Temperance - house cat
Diligence - fox
Kindness - dolphin

The story takes place in an ambiguous, fantasy country in West Europe during the Medieval Era. Most areas are undeveloped land, forests, and plains. There are scattered kingdoms and villages within those kingdoms. We will start off with the Vices and Virtues meeting in one of those villages, upon the request of Temperance and Diligence, to try to work out some kind of treaty or diplomatic document to calm the feuding factions. During this meeting is when Wrath sneaks off to a tarot reader.

I've never done this since I've never really had time, but aparently I've had an admirer follow a few of mine o.o
