its a point, but the point of the list would be that people dont have to repost their roleplays every single page.
Whatever. It was just an idea (:

    First off, I really like the idea of a list of currently accepting semi-lit+ RPs. c: That would be really useful. ;-;

    Second, we can't really deny anymore that our definition of semi-lit is a lot higher then the rest of CS'. We're literate and beyond to most users, who define literate as a small paragraph and semi-lit as two or three full sentences. Perhaps it would be better to call this the 'The Literate+ Roleplayer's Club?' We're not all literate almost anywhere else, but here, we are, and people are complaining left and right about being 'semi-lit' and not being accepted.

    Lastly, I read a synopsis of The Odd Life of Timothy Green, and it gave me an idea for an RP. All of the characters were created from the desire of a human for a friend, or a child, or a lover, or whatever. Their have a list of 'tasks' almost, anything from 'save a life' 'comfort a hurt child' 'be good at soccer' to 'help someone find a reason to live', that they feel they have to complete, as the person who unconsciously created them wanted a person who could do that. They feel wrong, like they don't belong in the earth, which being the embodiment of desires, they don't. They have a small black mark on their upper arm for each task, and with each one they finished, a mark fades. When the marks are gone, they life for three days as 'true humans' before fading away.
    They won't tell anyone what their tasks are or even that they have them, but they're trying to get them done as quickly as possible.
    There would be ordinary people too, to try to help these strange people/beg them not to finish so they can keep living/mourn them when they're gone. Obviously, the RP would end eventually if it doesn't die. c:

The old semi-lit+ group had a post with a list of the RPs being made but it was to hard to keep up with what was alive/dead or open/full. I dunno if Smamm would be up for trying it again.

I personally like the separate thread idea. A catalogue type thing. People could post saying "Title is now full!" and just not spam the thread with excitemen/statements about the RP. It's be interesting..

My definition has, has always been, and always will be:
Illiterate- anything with improper grammar/spelling galore, no plot lines, less than 2-3 sentences, mary/gary sue characters.
Semi-literate- One five sentence paragraph to 2-3 paragraphs [depending on size]. Must have proper spelling, grammar, and punctuation. Has a plot, and developed characters.
Literate: 3-4+ [okay, if nothings happening, 2] paragraphs per post, with impecable spelling, grammar,and punctuation with a wide vocabulary and flowing sentences. Deeply developed characters and plot. No fluff, whatsoever.

And if you fill five paragraphs with fluff and call yourself literate, I call you semi-literate.
If you write two paragraphs that have horrible spelling and grammar and call yourself semi-lit, I say you're illiterate xP

It does seem as if only literate people are being accepted lately- by my veiws, and like its been a bit harder. I think calling it literate would scare more than a few people away,I know it would have me, and in my opinion, a seperate club would need to be opened for semi-literate people to really be fair

    @pie:
    So much o.o!

    My definition would be something along these lines;
    Illiterate: major to minor spelling/gramma errors and less than five lines. Little descriptions and near-perfect characters. Boring posts with no prettiness whatsoever.
    Low semi-lit: Few grammar/spelling errors. Maybe doing something like this: [ex. ~Kianna [words here...] ] to introduce who's being role-played. Four+ lines with a little bit more than just thoughts and dialogue.
    Semi-lit: 6-8 lines. A little fluffy. Pretty posts with some detail. Not plotless and developed characters. The odd spelling error or missed comma.
    High semi-lit: 2 paragraphs with nice detail. Not very fluffy at all and is clear to the reader. Pretty posts that include maybe a quote and who's tagged, as well as interesting writing. No repetition in words and something the reader can visualise.
    Literate: 3 paragraphs with eight lines per paragraph. Pretty posts. No fluff. No errors, normally. Clear. Precise. Descriptive.

    @Kiro:
    I also think we should change the titles. The annoyance thread constantly has posts complaining about not being accepted every Monday. I'm not literate and might not be for a while. But who can blame me?;
    I'm not even old enough to be un-coppa'd. x_x
    And I would love a role-play like that, Kiro!

      this is a temporary signature, so i apologize for the horrid coding. cx i'm hopefully going to be getting a quality one soon!

Cheerio, a pretty post has nothing to do with literacy though. I mean some people, like moi, don't know crap about coding.

And to add on to what Kiro said, I agree. I've been thinking about that too.

in my opinion, if we keep accepting people like we have, then yeah, name change is needed. But I don't think the literacy needed to get in is fair right now, since it is the semi-literate club..
And I would think a semi-literate club would need to be made then too.

    Well, time for Kiro's two cents. xD

    Illiterate:
      -Any range of consistent grammar, capitalization, or spelling errors.
      -Little to no description or content other then dialogue, thoughts, or simple actions.
      -Poor characters and little effort in each post.
      -Less then five lines
      -Redundant vocabulary use

    Semi-literate:
      Low-
        -Five+ lines
        -Fluffiness
        -Little exploration of characters; they are who the form said they are, they have no hidden details
        -Semi-consistent typos and errors
        -Mechanical or awkward phrasing
      Mid-
        -Paragraph+
        -Some fluff
        -More in-depth characters
        -Occasional typos
        -Slight clunkiness in phrasing
        -Large array of vocabulary used
        -Gives things for other RPers to work off
      High-
        -A long paragraph or two depending on events
        -Minimal fluff
        -Typos are few
        -Deep characters
        -Content dense
        -Flows well
    Literate:
      -Aware how much to post according to current scenario in RP
      -Usually two+ long paragraphs
      -Rare or nonexistent fluff
      -Descriptions are detailed and well place
      -Rare or nonexistence typos
      -Post flows easily, with little awkward phrasing
      -Very content-rich, giving other RPers something good to read and to work off
      -Clear

    I don't think pretty posts have much of anything to do with literacy, although a header with the character's name and perhaps a tagged person particularly in the case of larger RPs can be useful. c:
    I find quotes and almost anything else pointless. xD Especially song lyrics.
    I think I'm in the high semi-lit range at the moment, or so I hope. xD I still typo and fluff too much to be anywhere near literate, alas.

    I'm thinking I'll make it. ^^ I kind of want to see characters with fixed, grim fates would do when trying to make everyone else's life better, and actually want that fate. xD They would also be awkward, ill-fitting, and mostly unsure what to do and probably make a good deal of humorously awkward scenes.

    Geeze, you're that young? I wouldn't have guessed it. ^^

    I know, it is surprising, isn't it. xD Oh well, I don't care much. Normally I keep it a secret to event and judging :c
