okay, we'll, I started on howrse, like mercy, and I can't quite remember how. It was only one x ones though, except one ore group role-play. As I look back, they were horrid xD no plots.
But, I started out with 3 sentences [or lines] and could give a paragraph when I felt like it.
I moved to CS after rediscovering it after a very long break [ I was here waaaay back when ] and slowly began to find out people did role-plays on here xP
I joined a wolf role-play that was considering itself semi-lit [ eight lines ] because I knew if I pushed myself I could do it. And there was a higher literate person that gave three or four paragraphs per post, that often role-played with my character, so I would try very hard to give good replies. When that one was sort of... Abandoned, I moved to the one x one search thread. I wanted to find a few partners that were really good to put up with a less literate partner, and eventually I did [ how I wish there had been a role-playing school back then ] an slowly got better. [ well, maybe not so slowly. I advanced in my writing quite quickly ]

I never did anything that didn't have proper spelling and grammar, and looking back, none of my characters really were Mary/Gary sues. .-.

Here's another question:
Do the people you know/your parents/etc. know and encourage your writing/role-playing? Or do you keep it secret?
Personally, I keep mine secret. My friends know I write, but are not allowed to read it [ or even touch the notebook ] and I have to keep CS very hidden and my role-playing to. I'd be severely grounded if they knew I talked to people on the Internet... And my mom has already voiced her opinion that she doesn't think me writing is all that great.

Hm... I want to find the post that I applied with, I want to see which sample I put in it... I can't find it though!

My mom knows I'm on chickensmoothie, and she knew I was on Howrse as well when I role played there, and she knew I was talking to people, but she didn't know I was role playing. To explain it to her would have been a pain, and she wouldn't have gotten it anyway. She would have just made fun of me. As for friends, I only told two. One I role played with for a while, and another it just came up in conversation once and then it was dropped. The only person I have ever felt completely comfortable with telling all of my role playing secrets and even ranting to is my fiancé. I was terrified of telling him at first, but when I got the nerve to tell him he just laughed and called me silly for worrying. He doesn’t role play with me but he knows I enjoy it and is willing to listen to my rants and read things I'm not sure of.

As a side note to the previous conversation, I am really curious to know what all of your users were on Howrse. I started there too, in a wolf role play run by himorganhere (The person who introduced me to chickensmoothie) and DogLover. My user was and still is Mouse10_9. I started role playing there ohh...about oh my god 6 years ago I guess. Maybe 7. I would have to go find the dates on the role play. And now that I think, it is pretty pathetic. XD

Oh gosh. EVERYONE knew I wrote and I'd only let them read anything about a few weeks so I could say, "Oh, that's old and not very good..." They were never allowed to read any of my new stuff because I was horrified by peer review. As for RPing, not a soul in the world knew about that. As I said before, I started on WoW and no one even knew about my gaming back then. My mom knew, simply because her and I gamed together, but she never knew about the RPing. She actually wanted me to RP with the guild/friends, but I didn't want her knowing I did for some odd reason. Thinking back on it, it was REALLY odd that I hid something that she encouraged me to do... My mom would read my fresh new writings though and confuse them with my step-dad's which would make me the happiest little kid alive.

Recently though I've gotten into a relationship with a gamer (it's kind of the same story as glitter! O_o) and he knows all my secrets for the sheer fact that I trust him. He knows everything no one else does and he helps me out once in a while and we know game together and he'll stop and wait for me if he knows I have to check on my Smoothies! Haha, he'll even lean over once in a while and fake gasp asking where all the rare pets are and what's the word on the forum. SO YEA.

Hey :3 A few places just freed up in my new roleplays, so please take a look!

    one male place left.

One year.
That's all you have to train up a completely wild horse.

You and nine other teenagers, talented and gifted riders, are being sent on a one year long trip to an equestrian center in the English countryside to train up a horse taken straight from the security of their herd to be sold off for meat. But they were rescued. Literally just in time, too.
All they know is humans are cruel, abusing creatures and it is your job to chance that. It is your job to care for them and eventually train them up to such a high standard, that they will be able to compete at a three star three day event.

Upon arrival, you wil recieve your partner, a rescue horse. There will be falls, blood, sweat and tears, long days of training, injuries and of course, a lot of drama, but you ca't let that get to you. You must be tough if you want to make it to the top.

Welcome to Rosenhill Equestrian Center.
Enjoy your stay.

three females and one male place open.

you thought you loved them. you really did.
every minute spent together felt like forever, you were hardly ever appart and when you weren't, you stayed up late texting them. but things went sour. something just... went. He no longer hugged her. she no longer went to sleep thinking about him. things just went downhill quickly, until it was all too much. your relationship ended in a huge argument. he stormed out. she sat in her bedroom, crying for hours. neither were sure what they had lost.
Until now.

six boys and six girls, locked in a huge manor house in the middle of the english countryside, no phones, ipods, laptops or any other electrical device, appart from a camera that they will be given upon arrival. sounds fun, right? well, at least they'll will be taking part in a brand new reality television show that will be bradcasted to over one million people live every saturday night.
during their time in the house, the cast will be filmed by cameras set up around the house, and they will have minimal contact with the outside world for a whole year. but there is yet another twist;
they won't be staying with strangers.

Lucky for me, my parents have always been supportive in almost everything that I do, and that includes writing. In fact, when I first started RPing they wanted to know more about it, and even went to read my writing on the forum that I frequented. I was so embarrassed hahaha, but they said that I was really good, which motivated me to write more. I don't think that I would have ever continued if it wasn't for them and the praise I got in my younger years. uwu These days though, nobody really knows that I write, and I'm mostly known as "that hipster artist guy" hah.

Hmm...my parents know everything >_> I wish they didn't. Sometimes. Then they don't have to constantly threaten and say I can't go on CS -.-

As for writing, my parents wish I didn't spend so much time on here rping/writing (I just simplified it and told them I wrote xD) and more on my studies, but I honestly can't help it. It's not just a hobby. Kind of a passion....ene writing, roleplaying, reading.

I only had like one friend who knew, my best friend. She started too but made her on site. I tried rping with her and her other friend's but it was just so novice like... It bugged me.

Like:

Character: blah blah blah action "Text"
Character: talking talking talking

^That's how I started^

Then in 8th I met someone who liked rping too but we haven't gotten to talk a lot.

And just recently two sophomores I talk to regularly found out ono"

I'm really self-conscious about my writing an it's really hard for me to let someone read it, but occassionally I do. Sometimes people just steal my notebook though xD

....
Now pie's curious as to if there are any males in the club....Ono
I used to know a guy friend and he'd do all my evil characters for me :c I miss him. >_> we called him Amy though x3

hey there! i'm abandoned. you might see me more commonly
referred to as 'pie' though. i adore rping, writing and reading.
however, i do not actively rp here anymore. i am on AS, under
the username forlorn. if you want to rp, shoot me a pm!
or even just to chat, i love meeting new people.

OP, I know two guys that roleplay. But neither of them are in this club.

I started talking / chatting online about 5 - 6 years ago (?) I didn't start roleplaying until about 3 years back though when I discovered that me and an online friend where actually roleplaying (on a different site that none of you have probably heard of.) We had over 1000 pages of messages (via the PM on the site) and I fell in love with it.

People who know about this don't really care, only my BFFLAEAE (Best Friend For Life And Ever And Ever) teases me about it, but he does it in good nature. He's the farest thing from a writer so he kind of sees this all as pointless. cx

No one must find out about my secret double life on CS D'8

Originally the only people who knew about me Rping were my two oldest friends- neither really care though -u- I keep trying to get them to join, or do something with me, but one is more into drawing and hates reading/writing; and while the other is a bookworm, she dislikes role-playing. Seu basically loneliness ensues lD Recently, I've told one of my newer, but extremely close, friends and was ecstatic to learn she has been trying to get into it as well. Then she sorta stopped being interested. So back to my lonely little corner I shuffled.
My parents are constantly asking me what I'm doing and 'if I'm writing a book or something' because I type so much, buuut I'm way to scared to tell them. They're a little opinionated. ono; I've debated telling my sister- mainly because she use to Rp with my cousin- but I have a feeling she'll say she grew out of it and make fun of me or something.

So once again, back to the corner of loneliness I shuffled and will most-likely remain. On the bright side though, I've made some really nice on-line friends here, so the lonely corner isn't so lonely.

    Also, @mercy.
    Thank-you~ c:
I lurk mostly. they/no pronouns.

Yay :) Me too...

[[ @ glitter ]] I started on the german Howrse, though, so yeah. I am Hollypaw on there, if anyone is on it. [yes, I speak german :]
[[ @ Neon ]] You're welcome :)

My parents know, kinda, but I don't really go into detail xP
Roleplaying is just something I do in free time, but I'm not having much time right now, but the next three weeks should be okay, as the are test-less :D

My parents know about ChickenSmoothie, but I don't think they know what I do there. They know I role-play, but really have no idea what I do and that I'm semi-literate. [not that it matters. that title would mean nothing to them anyway. xP] My parents have always been really supportive of what I do and that I'm grateful for c: They love hearing my stories and stuff. Though they've never read one of my role-play posts, I don't think o.O

    An in depth story of how I got into role-playing;
Well, I was on this site called Dogzer, where my friend on there, artemis5001, invited me over to CS. She only collects pets, so that's really all I did too. I ventured out into the forums lots, even did a little super illiterate role-playing as well. Then I decided I wanted to get into those better role-plays with a decent plot. But all of them were semi-lit+. I then got better, but stuck with the one-liners because I was too nervous. x3 Then I joined one... and finally got accepted! I then made it my goal to join this club. You don't know how many times I've tried to get in. Like, seven. No kidding .-. Then finally I got in and was all 'OMG YAAAAY FOR ME!!!!'. And that's when I seriously started considering myself a semi-literate role-player. c:
Image

hello there! i'm lithe, but feel free to call me whale, cheese, cheep, or cheetah. [yes, it's just a coincidence they all start with "ch". i'm an equestrian. c: i love sherlock, supernatural, doctor who, & so much more. i'm somewhat shy at first, so don't expect me to pm everybody. i love role-playing <3

this is a temporary signature, so i apologize for the horrid coding. cx i'm hopefully going to be getting a quality one soon!

A really late welcome to you, Neon! I love your signature, the transparency on the gif works really well.

I got into roleplaying on a site called (don't laugh) Ponyisland... *counts on her fingers* seven years ago. Wow. I've never done RPing in a format other than semi-literate to literate prose, and don't intend to either. My family has always supported my writing, although they dislike Chickensmoothie (primarily because of the name, I think.) and consider roleplaying the idiot cousin of collaborative writing. Sorta, not only is it not your own work, but you can't even publish it if you wanted to! And that was their opinion after I explained that it was definitely PG or G.

I did learn that if you want to avoid some of the awkwardness, say in a slightly snooty voice: "It's a form of collaborative writing where each person controls one character in the story." Most of my friends do not know about my writing at all, because they are math geeks and have no interest in silly English stuff. Not that I mind, as my best friend reviews my characters sometimes and give me advice on it.

As for how I came here, I actually was part of Chickensmoothie when it started. I mean, I didn't start my own account, but I had about fifteen of the very first pets they released. I was really surprised when I stumbled across this site again and went holy handgrenades! It's grown! And then I kicked myself for not making an account when I started. xP
INSANELY BUSY!
I am moving! For the next month or so, I am going to be so very busy.
If I'm on here, it's because I'm unwinding with writing or pets or whatever.
Please do not add to my stress, if you can. Your support is appreciated.
