Also, I remembered something involving hacked Pokémon. I got a Shiny, maxed out IV, Lv. 100 Kommo-o and a Shiny Silvally from RWBY Rose, and a Shiny Zekrom that originated from Gen V. Zekrom can't be shiny in those games, so it's obviously hacked, if it was from Hoenn, I wouldn't be suspicious, since you can soft reset until you get a shiny, Zekrom and Reshiram were Shiny locked in Gen V. So if all those are hacks, why didn't the system flag those?

They pay anywhere between $100-$20000 for skilled hackers to root out any vulnerabilities in the system. I haven't seen something this ironic in the gaming world in a long time.

Nintendo's hack check sucks, that's why lol. Meanwhile they have some legit-legal Pokémon caught in certain pokeball banned from trading. They might have fixed it, haven't check in a while. I know that gen 2/5 HA starters bred in Johto balls banned for a while lol.

Even an unnamed English Cofagrigus was banned during B/W, but I think they fixed it in the sequels.

I'm not sure why this point is so odd, there are other big tech companies that also pay those who find vulnerabilities - Microsoft pays up to $250k, apparently Google paid out $3m total in 2016...

But for stuff like Pokemon, it's very hit-and-miss, indeed... Most obvious hacks are blocked from the likes of playing online/Bank, but it seems injection methods like XY's QR code exploit meant some stuff could slip past the checks... (One sibling got a couple of Megas - as in, always Mega, so they can hold an item - through that which they were able to pass to ORAS and SM through Bank...) Meanwhile, I had an Ambipom blocked by Transporter from B2 for some reason or another (no idea why, but at least it's not too hard to get a replacement)... Of course, trading with a friend is different to trading randomly via Wonder Trade/using in competitive battles, so the checks are a bit different.
Cofagrigus was blocked because of the way the nickname check worked, ignoring the full name if it had a blocked string in... Which they did eventually fix, yes.

But, yeah, the checks are a bit meh.
