As I understand it, each of his hearts beats with the same two-beat rhythm as a human heart and slightly out of sync with each other. So each heart sounds like ba-dum ... ba-dum, and together they create a four-beat rhythm like ba-(ba)-dum-(dum) ... ba-(ba)-dum-(dum). That much at least can be confirmed, as we've been allowed to hear the Doctor's heartbeat a couple times, sometimes with both hearts working (ex. "Smith and Jones"), sometimes with only one (ex. "The Mind of Evil").

I'd guess the two hearts are independent with separate or partially separate systems and that's how the Doctor is able to survive with only one heart working, but then again I'm fairly clueless when it comes to anatomy. It has been referred to multiple times throughout the show as a "binary vascular system", dunno if that helps at all. xP

Any tips on what to make the background? I was thinking a night sky with a quote in it, but that could be really hard to draw... My brother suggests a beach, and my Dad suggests an alien city in the distance. Any ideas?

A couple of my friends have been in London recently, and they saw Noel Clarke there. They didn't approach him coz they didn't want to be annoying, but it would have been really cool!

I forgot if I joined this or not; but since it is in my posts, I assume I have. Well, nowadays I do not watch any Doctor Who and have been drifting away from the fandom. It's pretty much the whole Netflix thing that did it. Also, I really just dislike Peter Capaldi as the Doctor. It just doesn't suit him in my eyes for some peculiar reason.

May someone inform me of what's been happening in the Doctor Who Universe? I know something happened with Clara - I assume death - and twelve got a new companion named Billy or some other.

Is there anything specific you're wondering about? If you're just looking for a general summary and don't care about any spoilers, you might do best by checking a website like Wikipedia to catch up on everything. By researching on your own, you can read up on specifically what you're interested in and filter out what you don't care about. I'd be happy to explain some of what's been going on, but I have no idea where to start or what you want to hear about. "What's been happening in the Doctor Who universe" is an incredibly wide field, after all, and I'd probably end up going off for paragraphs on a tangent you couldn't care less about ... ;P But if you have any questions about something specific to narrow that field down, you're of course welcome to ask them here or shoot them my way in a PM!
