Do you consider yourself a "character hoarder?": I don't have too many, but I do really adore my lovelies and seek to expand my collection tenfold. I also like to hoard certain types of adopts, like buttermilks.

When you develop characters, when you buy them or make them, when do you start thinking of their backstory/development? When you see the or when you buy them?
Hmm...sometimes when I see them, because if I can't come up with anything for them, then I don't really want them due to the fact that they may not ever obtain a backstory or development. X3 Sometimes there are exceptions though. ^^;

When you develop characters, when you buy them or make them, when do you start thinking of their backstory/development? When you see them or when you buy them?

I start developing when I see the character. If I can't come up with it before I buy the character, I probably never will. Granted, it kinda stinks if I don't get the character, because then the personality and backstory I imagined for them just gets thrown away.

I usually think of their personality first, but I wait until after I've bought them to work on stories and such, otherwise I'd be extremely disappointed if the oc goes to someone who will never sell/trade it

I usually buy or make characters because i already have an idea fot their personality.
When i buy/make characters without having an idea for their personality first, i usually end up not connecting with them ;w;
