I have a friend who used a mod to spawn Enderdragons into the Overworld, and it lagged out his Macbook Pro! Also, it seems that the dragons can fly through solid ground... This is from the wiki:

In terms of how difficult the Enderdragon will be to defeat, Notch tweeted that his design guideline for the dragon is "If I can beat it at all, it's too easy."

They are made of 61 different cuboids, instead of just 6 or 7 like the creepers and zombies and the like. So their polycount is going to be humongous! Fortunately Notch said that their will only be one per End. Also, _Jeb did say that being able to ride Enderdragons was a possibility...

On youtube i saw the end had like a Million Endermen and a few thousand Enderdragons...
