Also if you don't already have a wheel in their cage I would suggest putting one in. My rat Harriette runs on hers all night T^T, I hate it, but she seems to enjoy it XD

Rats should never run on wheels unless you want them to be injured. Wheels hurt rats' backs a lot- like, really badly. I would suggest you don't let her run on any wheel, because it strains the back when it has to curve so much. You can buy a specially made rat-wheel, or you could put them in a ball, but it sounds like you could have a hamster wheel (lots of people do), and those are really, really bad.

I have a giant specially made rat wheel for Zeus. He never runs on it, just hides behind it.

If you want to put a rat on a wheel, it must be at least 12 inches in diameter.

I would suggest that if you want to have a wheel, you invest in a large Flying Saucer Wheel. They are flat and allow the animal to run normally without back injuries.

My rats don't use wheels, although I have never really tried- they're fat and lazy.

Make sure, no matter the size, the wheel does not have wire. They can get their tails caught in the wire and injure them. Solid wheels of the right size are necessary.

I just put my baby girl, Rosebud, to sleep. She had a Zymbal's Gland tumor, and her eye on that side died as the tumor grew.

RIP my sweet darling, the boys miss you so much already, and so do I. Everyone who met you loved you.

Aww, Moonfall. I want to hug you, come 'ere. *hugs* I know how you feel. I felt the same way when my very first and most beloved hamster, Bijou, died. She taught me so much about rodents. Oh, Ms. Halloween, may I inquire about Cain and Abel...are they long evans hooded rats?
