Today my friend of seven years is coming over to visit - I haven't seen her in about three years and since then I've gotten five pet rats.

She's afraid of rat tails, but I'm going to get her to try petting one of my calmer rats haha.

So far Sailar the new baby and Sadie are my calm rats..

also, Sailar is being a bit beaten up.. are their any toys or treats I could use to distract/keep the others busy? It seems the others are just bored.. it's never really ever violent, but it still has me worried since Sai is the one they pick on most.

Ratty teeth can vary in color a little, orange and yellow are both normal.

Long but not too long, they should be in line with eachother, a yellow colour...?

My rat's teeth are more of an orange colour, is that very bad?

So, for those who intend to breed irrisponsibly, I have a picture to show you. This is what cancer does to a rat. Her right eye is, as far as I can tell, dead. She is skin and bones and can't eat solids anymore. She has an ear infection from the tumor crushing her ear canal and trapping yeast. She has had chronic URIs since last summer.



Why anyone would breed and create animals with the potential to suffer like this is beyond me.

rats are very intelligent try some puzzle games, also:
tp tubes do wonders,a puzzle game(as said before),a rock would be nice to climb on as long as its clean, and its more round so they can't get thier jaws on it and break a tooth,a tissue box

I fill up toilet paper rolls with treats and then close them for my rats :3

Also if you don't already have a wheel in their cage I would suggest putting one in. My rat Harriette runs on hers all night T^T, I hate it, but she seems to enjoy it XD
