yeah!! when season four began with showing keith on a Blade of Marmora mission I was really happy to see that he's exploring his past in a way?? and finding out more about himself because I think it will help him in becoming a good leader (if he ends up really taking the reins on voltron ahghd idk) and when he saved one of his members,, it just showed how much he's developed since season one and not just act on his own, yknow?

ahh yeah that would make since...I just wasn't sure if it was ever described in canon or not ^^

I felt the exact same way! It was sort of a surprise, but then all the hints that the crew had been giving us made a lot more sense; the initial confusion made that episode really enjoyable, along with being an amazing way to start off the new season. It makes me even more excited for the new season, if it means they start 'em off so ominously.
I'll leave you to whatever you're doing now... sorry for responding so much; I love talking about this show but sometimes I get annoying. <3

Does anyone else ever get the feeling we focus too much on who's gonna end up with who rather than the story itself? I mean does the show really need romance in it?
I think its great the way it is. Not saying any romance in the show would be bad, I personally ship certain things myself but sometimes I see people who are too focused on the shipping part of Voltron.

I'm inclined to agree. Even though romance is totally fine, considering the fact that this is a kids show, I doubt there will ever be much full-fledged romance.

also ive seen so many more fandom members pop up on chicken smoothie as ive searched around, its crazy!!

I never was a huge fan of Legend of Korra, Aang made me laugh more.
Anyways, back to Voltron.
I know how you feel, I can't wait for season 5!

fandoms tend to focus heavily on romance outside of canon, because shipping is pretty fun tbh! I'm sure you know that the fanbase around boku no hero academia plays around with shipping a lot...it's just kind of what fans do when they enjoy a show. it doesn't need to be canon imo to be fun...I used to ship klance pretty hardcore (not so much anymore // I personally don't have many voltron ships and the ones I do are very lighthearted) and I had a blast roleplaying as the characters in romance scenarios!

unfortunately sometimes it can get out of hand and "shipping wars" happen but, this thread itself seems pretty fun and lighthearted.

as for romance in the show...representation would be great like they did at the end of korra, but it may be that. at the end of the show when the story is complete as to not get in the way perhaps? not sure.

I'm just happy that the team behind voltron isn't teasing or baiting any relationships, as far as I've seen, if that makes. a lot of times in anime creators will hint at a relationship between two characters and it will never happen, most of the time with same-sex relationships.

overall-- story > romance for me, but hey, I'm up for anything!
