the deer twins were always ignored by humans, living as stray kittens with only their defensive mother tended to not be very inviting. they didn’t let that put a damper on their mood, not at all! the pair always tried their best to attract attention whenever their mother was hunting, begging for food from the elderly who fed the pigeons or demanding someone pet them. it was always their wish to be noticed. one day, that wish came true. one snowy morning, a odd twoleg produced a tin of tuna towards the two (who had grown up by this point) and offered them a place to stay. it was a dream come true! all good things must come to an end however, the twoleg disappeared as the snow begun to melt. their last gift? why, the antlers! the pair vowed never to take them off as a reminder of the twoleg who had noticed them. with the addition of the bell collars, they were rarely not noticed. in fact, some twolegs tried to take them of the streets and separate them from each other. the pair couldn’t bare to part so they ran and they ran, as far as they could.

Having spent their entire kit-hood with the twolegs who abandoned them, Fawn and Buck wear the last things their twolegs gave them, in hope that someday their twolegs will come back for them, and be able to find them. Though it annoys the other cats, the two are just younglings, barely old enough to be warriors, losing their twolegs was like losing their mother.

Also it is incredibly hilarious to see new cats reactions to their 'antlers'

Troublemakers to the core, they simply like to cause mischief wherever they go. How do they do that best, in a forest full of cats hunting? Make as much noise as they can, of course. Outwardly, it seems like nothing they do is more than simple mischief, though they wouldn't go so far as intentionally scaring prey away from a Clan - which is why they much prefer to stay away from hunting patrols, since it's known they won't be taking their bells off. They don't usually give an answer why, though sometime they may open up and reveal their story to someone.

Truthfully, under their facade of mischief and trouble making, the twins are hurting over the loss of their triplet, a she-cat named Winter. She gave them the collars and bells while they were all still in the Twoleg home. The thing was, Winter was sick, and didn't have long left to live. She knew their love for wintertime and watching all the creatures - like deer - out the window and on the fence in their home. She wanted them to wear them as a memento to the fun times they used to have watching deer, laughing about how stupid the creatures seemed. The bells they keep as a reminder of where they came from, because they never want to forget the place they still consider home, at least in their memories with Winter.
