I wouldn't put a skip button into the text.
Even if you don't want to read it, they've worked hard on the text and story line of the event.
Skipping it over to just get pets is rude, in my opinion.

Hmm, I don't know. I can see your point, but I'd personally like an option to skip the dialogue, too. I understand that a lot of work was put into the story, and I certainly appreciate that. However, I'm just not a lore person, and while I'm sure it's all very interesting and I feel bad about skipping it, I simply can't sit and read the dialogue without getting bored after the first few lines, especially since I haven't been following the story in the past, either, so I don't know the context of anything (nor do I have the attention span or interest needed to catch up on everything I've missed.)

Not having a skip button doesn't work wonders to change the minds of the people who aren't interested in reading the lore, unfortunately. Instead, I end up repeatedly clicking "Next" until the characters finish talking, which then makes me feel even worse. It's not so much that I only want the pets and don't appreciate the story; it's that I know I wouldn't be able to appreciate it even if I did try to read it because I'd be bored the whole time and not even know what anyone's talking about. I'd love for there to be an option to read the text for everyone who is interested, as well as a second option to skip over it for those people who aren't into that kind of thing.

On a side note, it's also nearly impossible for me to focus on reading any stories, however well-written, when they're on a digital device. If there were an "Eldemore Lore" book released in physical form, I'd probably consider buying it and might finally be able to enjoy the writing properly. c:


Whew, I write too much. I do want to emphasis that I am not criticizing the writers at all. I think it's amazing how they put so much dedication into giving Eldemore its own characters and lore. It's just not what I'm personally interested in. ^^

Super excited to see what will happen today. I personally love the lore. As an artist it helps me be creative in the pets I make for the event. And watching Bena, Jen and Zay work themselves to death to get this done while throwing in such a wonderful story makes me even more excited for the lore and story line. Its sort of sad that so many dont appreciate their hard word. And the story is just a unique one that ties the whole site together and explains everything thats going on.

Buuut, have you SEEN the new pets? Cuddlefish? OMG I need a million... also... Need more Runedeer! I missed like 4 out of them x.x
