This show was originally made for younger audiences than us, for example, 8 year old children and younger, so I really doubt they'll do anything that the brony fanbase wants. { Alicorn versions of one of the mane six, deeper relationships between cannons, etc. } Even though it has adapted to families and even people older than most of us, those things will probably never happen because it will throw the entire show out of balance, as Daddy said.
