Species Comp Entry - Fespines

Postby xanthocat » Fri Jul 03, 2020 9:53 am

THIS TOOK WAYYY TOO LONG! I hope this wins ngl

Before I get into the lore/traits, here's what the base comes with:
x1 Cover
x1 Ref
x1 Adult lines
x1 Baby Lines
x3 Backgrounds (Kingdom, Wasteland, Volcano)
Organized groups

Fespines is a play on words between Felines and Spines. It is pronounces Fee-Spines

You can change the name and any of this lore if this species wins.

Fespines are a dragon-like cat, with 2 tails, and long spines covering their body. Fespines can live anywhere around the world, except VERY cold environments. Their spines can release venom when touched, along with their sharp teeth. This venom is strong and can be lethal if left untreated, don't worry though! An anti-venom does exist and is easily accessible. It is advised to keep this anti-venom on handy when owning one as a pet. Fespines are commonly owned as an exotic pet and are social around humans. Similar to dogs, they're normally very loyal and friendly. Though Fespines have a social nature, they often do not form packs. They prefer to either live alone or with their mate and children. Fespine children normally leave their mother and father after 1 year of life. Fespines normally mate for life, but it is not uncommon to see the male partner leave. Fespines normally have 1 kit at a time. This is because it can be dangerous for the mother to have more, considering their size at birth.

Fespines are about the size of a golden retriever. They're normally working animals in rural areas, or used instead of police dogs. This is because Fespines are easy to train. Strangely, their venom can be used as a fertilizer when mixed with the seed of the plant. Their venom is also good for keeping pests away, this is because the venom will remain on the plants when used for fertilization and will kill insects and rodents that try and eat the plants within a day. When harvesting crops with the fertilizer farmers must wash them or the consumer can later ingest the venom and will need to seek medical attention. Fespines are an overall good animal to keep around!
