Pearlines
(per-lee-n-s)
Rarity is determined by the colors and number of their pearls, with white or a tint being common, and blue being legendary.
They have a gem in their forehead that lets them see, because they do not have eyes, only empty sockets.
Their fur is short but soft over the majority of their body, the exception to this being their long, fluffy tails and their manes - which when present are very thick and warm.
Their antlers are for self-defense and decoration in mating season, and do not shed, being a form of bone.
2 pearls is the most common, but they can have up to 8 in any Pearline that is not legendary.
More than two pearls only occurs when there is a body gem - unless they are on the face in place of another facial gem.
Rarity is as follows (The number of pearls shown is half the number of total pearls, as their gems and pearls are symmetrical):
2 pearls - common - white, very pale rose, silver, or a cream color
4 pearls - uncommon - pink/peach, slight aquamarine or gold overtones, sometimes a sweet rose color
6 pearls - rare - black, often with an overtone of teal, darker pink, green, or a mix of green, gold and pink(peacock)
8 pearls - very rare - golden or chocolate pearls, can be champagne, but colors are usually dark and rich in tone with the occasional rose tint
10+ pearls - legendary - blue shades from sky to midnight blue, can be slightly green in color or look violet, as well as be a deeper, solid teal, pure aquamarine, and other blue tones
Rib Gems - Rare+ rarity depending on number of pearls
The more the pearls or gems, the more desirable a Pearline is to mate with, but there are some restrictions that come with breeding to ensure Pearlines are not overrun by legendaries.
Breeding:
Commons can breed with any rarity.
Uncommons can breed with any rarity except Legendary, but unless the other parent is Common, cannot produce a Common child.
Rare can breed Rare and under.
Very Rare can breed Uncommon and under.
Legendary can only breed with Commons and other Legendaries. Rarities among children can be mixed, but only two Legendaries can produce a Legendary child.
I will hopefully be making a color chart for pearl colors by rarity so artists can pick the hex codes from it and make it easier. (I will do this if I win)
