for this cat, i was definitely thinking medicine cat, but i would not be at all
offended if you wanted another rank for him. he is a tom, about 38 moons.
young enough to do everything, old enough to be respected. as you can see,
he sports a bobbed tail and playful eyes. when i was designing him, i had a
playful, friendly, yet knowledgable and wise personality in mind. good with
the apprentices, and sympathises with them. a wise adviser to kits and leaders
alike, the kind of cat who can talk to just about anyone with the same level
of respect and understanding, a friend to all. that's not to say, though, that
he wouldn't fight with all the fury of Tigerclan were his clan to be attacked.
i had lots of difficulty deciding on a name for this guy. i played around with
some different prefixes, and ended up liking the sound of Briar-. as for a
suffix, in traditional naming, medicine cat's who are particularly adept in
healing often have -leaf as a suffix, but i didn't think i wanted him to be an-
ything to special. he is certainly good at it, but not to a point of a special
naming. i did think, though, that -nose would be good. i felt like he would
be skilled in scenting, more so than perhaps some other cats. i imagined this
would help him find herbs, and would have made him a good study in his
apprentice days (pre-medicine cat apprentice). thus, Briarnose was decided
on. like i said about rank, i really won't be offended if you decide to change
his name or age or anything, these are merely the opinions and imaginings
of the artist. i am still rather thinking up a history as i go along, but i think
that, along with his healing skills, it wouldn't be anything particularly dazz-
ling. since i can't know what roleplays/stories you will be using him, i don't
know any specific clan history/customs/stuggles things like that, that he
would be subject to. so i will try to keep things adaptable. honestly i was
imagining a simple born-and-rasied clan backstory. made a regular apprentice
at the age of six moons, but was adopted into medicine apprenticeship not
many moons after. he showed excellent tracking skills, and had a caring
(though i must say, often mischevious) demeanor. he became quite close
with the medicine cat, often seaking out his/her advice, and soon had
aquired a passion for herbs and healing. he had a knack for it, too, as
his soon-to-be mentor would say. he finished out his apprenticeship as
a medicinecat in training, and when he mentor died/retired, he took
on the task of full-fledged medicine cat.
now, i wanted to leave the story of his docked tail to you. wether he
was born with it, or in some accadent. no sense in me having all the fun,
eh? now, if you'd like i would be glad t o formulate something. but that's
up to you.
