"Love is on every one's side, and no one's side. Don't ask what Love can do for you."
Anyone recognize this boy? He's a similar concept to my entry last year, but boy have I improved.
Anyways, this boy is my little heartbreaker. A blood bay extended blanket with dull crimson eyes, this boy is so very special to me. The concept came to me last year after reading Rick Riordan's House of Hades. It had always been in the back of my mind, that perhaps love was not as nice as my friends seemed to think it was, and afte r reading this I was quite satisfied with the description of Cupid, the Roman version of the God of Love. So, this guy is sort of based off a dark version of Cupid. On his shoulder, right under Neara's signature, there is a broken heart to represent the cruelty of love. On his hindquarters, hidden in the spots there is a bow and arrow, representing the traditional idea of Cupid carrying a bow and arrow which he fires to make victims fall instantly in love. His blaze is in the shape of a downwards pointing arrow, again with the mystical arrow of love idea. Underneath his markings, peaking through in some places, are a skull with pointed teeth on his head {fancied up bay} and along his spine and across his rib-cage are his ribs. This represents how love can strip your bones bare and leave only the skeleton of you left.
Sorry for all the explanation, I just really wanted to describe him as he means a lot to me. If this design does not place, I do believe I'll be transferring him onto another set of lines and keeping him as a character. I will also post various versions beneath this so you can see all his markings/colour clearly.
Constructive critique welcomed with open arms.
"Love was the most savage monster of all."
