Marie can sense other's moods and manipulate them. This can affect any species. However, her emotions tend to flare and are quite sensitive, so one moment she can be calm and if she is angered, she will be ready to fight to the death.

Talent:
Reminding people that even when you're going through a rough spot there will always be a light in the darkness and no mater how down and out you sometimes feel all you need is color in your life to bring a smile to your face.

Explanation/Story of why she's an Alicorn:
(I went a little overboard with her story but I couldn't help myself! ^-^" Also sorry I'm not the best story-writer. x.x)

Birth~
No one knows where she truly came from, some say she was birthed from the Aurora Borealis itself. As a child she was found slightly buried in the snow to the north she was only a simple unicorn then. The couple that found her bickered over whether to keep the mysterious little baby or turn it over to a local orphanage.
After days of squabbling the husband was sitting alone reading the newspaper quite exhausted by his wife's constant nagging about the child, when all of a sudden he felt a tugging on the end of the newspaper. Upon looking down he saw the darling little girl staring up at him. She gave him a little giggle and he broke, how could he give up such a sweet little girl to be raised by who knows who..He told his wife the news that he had decided upon and she jumped with excitement as she rushed off to prepare the child's new room.
She had always wanted a baby, but never able to have one of her own. This was finally her chance to be the mother she had always dreamed of being.

Filly~
As a young filly on her way to school Aurora passed a very sad pony who had been crying for a while she stopped then took out a handkerchief that her mother had made for her and offered it to the very sad pony while asking "Why are you so sad miss?" The pony accepted the handkerchief and wiped her tears away. "Well you see little one, I have just lost something very important to me."
Little Aurora smiled to her "Well don't be sad I'll help you find it!" The pony smiled a little "Oh I haven't lost anything that can be found..you see I've lost a loved one, they went to a better place and I'm just feeling a little down without them." With a nod she began to think "Oh I see...Wait! hold on!."
She went into her back then pulled out a picture she had made. "Here, I drew this with my favorite colors of my parents. Mother told me they were in a better place as well so I drew what I thought they might look like and where this place might be...it makes me happy when I look at it, but I think you need it more than I do." She smiled and handed over the drawing.
Returning her smile the pony was incredibly touched and accepted the drawing. "Why thank you..I see why it makes you smile. When I get home I'll hang it up so whenever I look at it I'll remember this day and remember the conversation we had."
As she left the sad ponies side Addie looked back to her and noticed that her flank was no longer bare, a beautiful purple/blue heart had appeared.
After school Addie rushed home as fast as she could to show her mother and father her beautiful new cutie mark! She burst through their front door "Mother! Mother! Look! Look!" She showed her mother her flank and smiled proudly "I got it this morning!"
Her mother looked at the heart on her flank and smiled incredibly happy for her "So what is it dear? What's your special talent? How did you figure it out?"
Pausing for a moment Aurora thought on this. "Oh well..my talent? I don't really know to be honest...I just saw this pony on my way to school and she was so sad mother, she was in tears and that made me sad. So I stopped and she had someone that was in a better place as well, so I gave my prettyful colored picture to her and she started to smile..and that was it."
Her mother smiled and sat beside her. "Well it sounds as if your special talent is cheering other up with your beautiful colors."
She looked a bit confused. "My colors can make others happy?" She nodded "Yes it seams so."
Addie thought on this for a moment "Alright then..Mother, I've decided want to share my colors with people...I wish to bring them happiness by showing them all the pretty colors I can make. Do you think they'd like that? Because I think they would....I want to be like that thing that's in the sky at night, what's it called again?"
With a slight tilt of the head her mother looked to her and answered. "The Aurora Borealis?" Addie nodded. "Yeah that thing. It's so pretty I wish I could do something to share my colors with everypony the way it does..."
Her mother thought for a moment. "Well if you really want to share your colors with everyone, you should probably start working on your magic...I'm sure if you practice and study everyday, then one day you'll be able to bring your colors to all of Equestria?"
When her mother said it was possible she looked to her mother with glee and exclaimed "Really?! It's possible?! I'm going to go start practicing right away!" And with that the little filly she was gone, disappearing to her room where she began practicing her color magic on any and everything in sight.

Mare~
Now a grown unicorn Addie was now very good with her color magic, she could change the color of nearly any and everything she wished though she had also learned a few new tricks as well. All her magic was temporary since it was no where near strong enough to stay permanent. She was bent on finding a way to make it last though.
Everyday Addie would come home and study all the magic she could. her favorite thing to practice with were daisies, as their blank surfaces made it easy to give them a new color. Though there was only so much she could learn in this little room in a tiny cottage of a small town.
She had decided to move to Canterlot as she had heard they had a massive library full of books that would be of great help to her. She told her parents the news and yes they were sad but they accepted her choice to move to further her studies.
After a long train ride to Canterlot Addie found a job working in a floral arrangement shop, they offered her the spare bedroom located upstairs from the shop and she gladly accepted.
Once she moved in the first place she went was to the library and she was a bit overwhelmed this was much larger than anything she had access too before. She b-lined to the books on color magic and began to pull all she could from the shelves.
After she checked them out she went home and sat down on the little palette she had made for herself then turned on a little lamp and began studying. By the end of the night she had read half the books and passed out.
Not an hour later the shop owner found her she woke her up because it was already morning and time for her to start work. Addie went down stairs put on her apron and began arranging the flowers in as beautiful and intricate ways as she could.
While her new boss wasn't looking Addie would often practice the things she had read in her books on the flowers sometimes her magic would backfire and she would have to hide her disaster and make a whole new arrangement but it was the best practice she had for now.
Working at the shop during the day and studying as hard as she could every night for a few months straight her magic had improved greatly. She had even started expanding, able to now change colors of a lot more than flowers she had also learned how to make the color last much longer even become permanent in some cases.
That wasn't the end of it though, she had began to feel the emotions of the flowers. It was like she could feel them grow happier as she changed them to their "true" color and this in turn made her happy.

The moment that changed her~
One late night in Canterlot a swarm of pixies had snuck past the guards and began stealing the colors from local ponies in their sleep~ (Keep in mind not everyone was affected just a few ponies in the path of the pixies)
The next morning when everypony was getting out of bed some of them began to feel sluggish had lost all their colors and even suffered from memory loss they walked around town aimlessly in search of answers but unable to find any. Addie slept in that morning because no one came to wake her up, as she grumbled and fought her way out of her still sleep deprived state she wiped her eyes then got up and went downstairs still not even knowing how late she had waken up.
The flower shop was empty which was unusual, normally her boss would have been up preparing the shop so they could open. Addie looked around the entire store for anyone, calling out their names but getting nothing in return. Finally she opened the door to the shop and right in front of her way her boss completely void of color and staring straight at her. Jumping back a little bit in surprise she exclaimed "My gosh what happened to you?!..." Of course she didn't get an answer so Addie soon stepped past her to look outside she could see other ponies wandering around with the same blank expression and lack of color.
After bringing her boss inside she just starred at her for a while wondering what she could do..or how long this would last...what if it lasted forever?..what was she to do then?
As she thought and thought she began to pace back and forth then a vase of her flowers caught her eye..what if...what if her true color spell worked on more than just flora and inanimate objects?..she had never been able to try it on anypony before, maybe it would work. There was nothing else she could think of so she had to at least give it a try.
Addie walked over to her boss then touched her horn to the mare's forehead and activated her spell. Soon a flood of memories coated in grey poured from her boss' mind into Addie's she then "recycled" the memories back to their original state and returned them back into her boss. As each memory came back the mare slowly gained more and more of her color until she was back to normal. Rubbing her head her boss looked confused and just stared at her. "What happened? And why are you standing so close to me?" Addie jumped up and down a bit then just hugged her "It really worked! I can't believe it!" Still confused her boss simply looked at her. "What worked? I'm really confused Addie can you explain?" Addie smiled then ran to the door. "No time I have to help the others!" and she was gone.
After spending all day bringing the color back to the citizens and getting everyone back to their old selves Addie was exhausted. Suddenly a bright light surrounded her and wrapped around her again and again. She didn't understand what was happening, after a moment the light disappeared as if it had never been there in the first place and she felt odd...looking back she noticed something feathery on her back...wings?! She checked her horn and it was still there thank goodness but she now had wings! She was completely baffled...

So basically she saved some ponies from any entirety of void-ness and perfected her true color spell thus making her a alicorn...fff sounds kinda really dumb when I sum it up but it's all I could think of. :x

Okay so I just could not figure out a design for her adopted parents. x.x So I drew her before she became an alicorn talking to her real "parents" or well the stars anyway (since she doesn't know who they are) telling them about how hard she's been working on her studies while showing them another picture that she made of them. ^-^" I really hope this is okay because I love the way this came out. ><

I don't want to add her parents in the art, too much work to draw then xD Also I don't really want to write a story. I'd apply if I could use that art and not have to write the story, but I doubt that's how it works pfft
