Here is my entry. The one on the right is the first random tom and the one on the left is Snakeclaw.

INJURED: Words: 1,500
I sighed. We had been walking for days and days. My paws hurt and I could feel the rocks that stuck in my pads. “Are we there yet?” I moaned. Snakeclaw shot his head back to look at me.
“No!” he snapped. I jumped back in surprise at his tone. I felt my hind paw slip on the edge of the cliff. Quickly Waterheart struck out and heaved me back onto the path.
“Thank you,” I breathed in relief. My ice blue eyes peered down the cliff to see the barely visible ground dotted with green. My paws trembled with fear as I realized what could have happened.

Waterheart pressed her nose into my shoulder.
“It’s alright Swiftstream,” she murmered. I let my sister’s soothing voice melt my fears away.
“Thank you,” I mewed again before pulling away from her slowly. Snakeclaw appeared around the near-by bend and looked angry, “What in the name of Starclan took you so long?” I rolled my eyes and ignored him. We padded along steadily until a large crevice yawned in front of us.

My eyes darted over to Snakeclaw. “You said you knew the way,” I mewed in annoyance. My tail lashed and my eyes narrowed at the calico tom. Snakeclaw sighed in exasperation.
“I suppose I don’t know,” he grumbled reluctantly. Waterheart appeared by my side and let out a morrow of laughter.
“Oh, Snakeclaw. You never fail to amuse us she-cats. First you say you death berries are good to eat then just before we take a bite you tell us that they are poisonous, then you told us that Sharptail was nice but then he tries to kill us, and now you say you know the way out of this canyon and now you say we’re lost.” I glared at Waterheart. Those times weren’t funny. Benny was killed by those death berries because of Snakeclaw and Blackfang was separated from us because of Sharptail.

I snorted and walked away from the two. I yawned and sat down a little ways away from the two chatter birds. My eyes watched them as they laughed and played around. I flattened my ears and walked further away from them.
“Hello, you’re Swiftstream I presume.” I backed away and hissed. My white fur bristled and I glared at the new cat.
“Yes, who are you?” I mewed hostilely.

The cat leapt down from a rock directly above me. He was a handsome grey sleek-furred tabby. He smiled at me, “I’m Silverstorm.” I flicked my ears in annoyance. Who did this tom think he was barging in on me like this?
“Nice to meet you now leave,” I snapped. The tom didn’t move at all. I hissed and barged past him. “Out of my way!” I hissed behind my shoulder. The tom kept on staring after me until I rounded another bend. I padded back to Waterheart and Snakeclaw. What I saw froze me in my tracks.

Waterheart and Snakeclaw were pressed together lovingly with their tails intertwined. I stood there with my jaw gaping. My blue eyes shone with surprise but suddenly melted into anger. How dare my sister fall in love with that trickster? Doesn’t she know he’ll just cheat on her?

I padded over to them. “Hello you two, enjoying your ‘alone time?’” I mewed through gritted teeth. Waterheart turned and smiled at me.
“Yes, we were…”
“Untill you interrupted us!” Snakeclaw snapped at me. I bristled and lashed my tail in anger.
“Well I’m sorry,” I mewed rolling my eyes. I flicked my tail and turned beckoning my sister to follow. Reluctantly Watherheart murmured something to Snakeclaw then padded at my side.

When we reached a small cave far away from Snakeclaw I stopped walking and sat down. I fixed Waterheart with an intense gaze. “Snakeclaw is trouble, he’s nearly gotten us killed numerous times.”
Waterheart flicked her ears passively. I glared at her for not taking me seriously.
“You didn’t know him before our journey, he was different he has a sweeter side.” I huffed grumpily.
“You barley knew him before this journey,” I shot back in irritation. Waterheart gave me a baffled look but said,
“But I love him.” My eyes barley widened, my sister didn’t know I had seen her and Snakeclaw together earlier.
“You know how many she-cats he’s cheated on,” I mewed trying desperately to change Waterheart’s mind.
“Well he’s different now! He loves me!” Waterheart said determinedly. I bristled and sank my claws into the rock making a shrill scratching noise. I whipped around and stormed out of the cave. How could my sister not see it? I heard Waterheart call my name for me to come back but I didn’t listen.

I continued on until I found an overhanning rock. I leapt up onto it and dozed there for a while. While I was up there I watched Waterheart as she crept back to Snakeclaw. After a while of waiting, I padded wearily back to Snakeclaw and Waterheart by moon-high. Snakeclaw ignored me and I ignored him. Waterheart was curled up by his side, to my disgust. I found a place all by myself and fell asleep.

In my dreams I was hanging by my front paws on a cliff-face. “Help!” I yowled. My short claws dug into the rock to no avail. My hind paws struggled to get a grip on the cliff. My eyes were wild with terror and I looked up to see Snakeclaw. He leaned over and gave a smirk. “Snakeclaw! Help me!” I called out to him. The black tom simply turned away from me. Suddenly the rock jerked and I started to fall. My claws were torn from the rock as I fell down, down, down.

The breath was knocked out of me and I lay awake. Dawn was just beginning to break and I was panting. My ice blue eyes darted over to Snakeclaw warily. He glanced at me and gave a look that said, “What did I do?” I snorted and turned away I looked around and sighed. I padded over to the crevice and looked down. Instantly I became dizzy. My claws tried to dig into the rock but I was suddenly frozen by fear of my dream.

“Swiftstream watch out!” Snakeclaw yowled. Suddenly I was a huge shape hurting towards me. It was a bird, a really big bird! It screeched and dove for me. Its strong wings were pressed against its side in a fast dive. I tried to run away but I felt a piercing pain in my leg. A set of talons had grabbed my back leg. They sunk into my side and gripped me tightly. The giant bird’s wings beat as it carried me upwards.
“No!” I roared as pain shot through me. The searing pain in my leg left suddenly. I glanced around in confusion as my mind whirled.

Pain blinded my senses as I stared down at the ground far below, I realized it was getting closer. My head spun and I stopped thrashing. In the distance I could barely see two shapes calling out my name. I tried to recall who they were when I felt the bird tip and wobble. I looked up to see the grey tabby from before. He had come to rescue me! Suddenly I watched him screech as he fell. My eyes swam and fogged as I watched the shape disappear. Soon I lost consciousness and fell into a pit of darkness.

When I awoke we were still flying. My eyes narrowed in confusion shouldn’t we be landing soon? Suddenly I realized I wasn’t flying, I was falling. The pain of a shark talon jabbing into my side sent my mind whirling. The sense of falling triggered flying. The bird had been there… My mind was still dizzy and I struggled with every breath I took. My eyes were dimming and I felt the need to sleep.
“Oh Starclan, please let me live.” I murmured as darkness engulfed me once again.

A paw prodded my non-injured side. I drew in a ragged breath and opened my eyes to see a strange cat staring at me. “She is alive Falcon.” The cat mewed.
“Good, the other?” A rumbling meow replied. I struggled to stand but my leg wouldn’t let me. I yowled in pain as I felt fresh blood spill out from the wound in my side. The first cat turned to me again with sympathy in his amber eyes. I realized he was odly colored. I thought for a moment before pain kept me from thinking.

“I’m afraid he didn’t make it,” He mewed solemnly. The second tom frowned but said no more. Suddenly I could see two shapes approaching. My heart leapt for joy and I thrashed but then stopped at the sensation of pain froze me. As they came closer I could recognize them as Snakeclaw and Waterheart.

“Snakeclaw? Waterheart?” I mewed wearily. Neither of them answered my calls. The shadows vanished and my heart sank. I felt so alone and deserted. My eyes filled with sadness, I was injured and I knew it. The question still ran through my mind. ‘How did I survive?’
