Javert [ my new favorite ]

Postby e l d e r i a » Sat Jan 05, 2013 8:21 am

Wowsers... this guy has to be my favorite...

Username: parlez.

Kelpie Name: Javert pronouced (Ja-Vair)

Age: 8 years

Gender: stallion

Height: 17.2 hh

Color: Steel Grullo Rabicano

Personality: With his shady looks and piercing eyes, Javert strikes fear into the hearts of those who have wronged. With his dark past haunting him he strides only to prosecute those who are up to no good. He is a loner type. Has no interested in love nor foals. He sees them only as a burden or tempters to do wrong. He can be a harsh and cruel stallion, with a tongue sharp as his rack. Unlike most stallions he tends to go for intimidating his enemies with stature and the power of words than the charge in for the kill. Javert has the bad habit of playing God. He thinks himself higher than everyone else. He is truly a stallion who cannot live without leading. Think him what you will, but Javert is not arrogant. He is actually quite smart as he does what he does. He treads lightly around other Kelpies, mares and stallions alike.
He isn't bad though. He really does think what he's doing is right. He just happens to have a different mindset than everyone else.

History: The day in the swamps was calm and quiet. The morning mist hung like a heavy sack over the bog. In the tangled vines of a willow tree a mare breathes sharply. The sound is raspy. A strangled whinny escapes her jowls. She is laying in pain on the swamp ground. She whinnies again. Behind her a new colt lays. The new mother turns to the best of her ability and licks the foal clean. The colts piercing yellow eyes gazed at his mother sending chills down her spine. "I shall call you Javert." she manages to whisper before pain forces her to rest her heavy head once again. A final breath slips from her body and her eyes shade over with a gloomy grey. She is dead. The colt wanders around the bog. He is weak without the first milk that would strengthen his immune system. It is likely that he too will be dead soon.
After mere days of clumsily walking Javert finally accepts his soon fate and lays down. He closes his little eyes and prepares for the end he has already accepted. He falls into a deep sleep.
Water trickles on Javert's down his muzzle and into his nostrils. He jolts awake snorting loudly and shaking his head. He looks at the figure in front of him. Another equine. Another Kelpie stood in front of him. A weak neigh came from his mouth. He'd flee, but he was too weak to stand for himself. The mare nudges him to his feet. Javert looks at her questioningly before going to nurse.
Two years later Javert is strong and in fact alive. The mare that had saved him long ago, named Fantine, was gone from his life and he was fending for himself quite nicely. Still he struggled with the fate of his mother. She had died giving birth to him. She was young and had so much to live for. It broke Javert's heart.
When Javert turned five his life changed forever. He was wandering along in the swamps, just another ordinary day, when a terrified whinny caught the stallions attention. Ear pricked forward with an alert caution he trotted towards the sound. In a small clearing a stallion was pushing a mare away from her foal. The sight brought on the horrible flashback of his mother being torn away from him. He squeezed his eyes shut tightly, but all he saw in front of him was his mother being pushed away from a tiny weaker him. Something snapped and Javert found himself charging the stallion. Shaking his antlers. There was a stand off. No one was injured. Javert came out on top. This was the day he vowed to right all wrongs, and devote his life to persecuting the unjust.
