I would love to adopt a Saltwater Kelpie to draw, use as a charactor in stories, roleplay (if a kelpie roleplay were to open) and of course cherish c: Other: ~ Story ~“Do you see it? Down there,Look!”
The little girl looks obiedantly in the direction her mother is pointing.
“A pony!”, the little girl exclaims with delight, “I lov…”.
“NO, not a pony, don’t you ever say that again.”, the little girls mother intercepts, panic rising in her voice. She turns and takes the little girl by the shoulders, crouching down to her level.
“Kyra…I want you to promise me something. Something important.”, She looks fearfully at her daughter before continuing urgently , “I want you to promise me that you will never play down by the sea and that you will never touch that…creature”. The final word “Creature” hissed through grit teeth, seemed to linger in the bitter icey air.
“But Momma, that’s where I find all the prettiest shells!”, Kyra whines with dismay. She plunges her hand into her pale blue pinafore pocket. Retrieving a fist full of sandy sea shells, she holds them up in her dainty hands for her mother to see. Her mother stares at the shells and her daughters hopeful face regrettfully. “And they’ll be the last. Its just too dangerous honey…I’m sorry”, She says softly. She takes the little girls hand in hers. “Its time to go Kyra, say goodbye”,her mother whispers.
Kyra gazes out at the restless ocean for one final time. The waves crash violently against the sandy shore. The pony like creature stands forlorn, just within the reach of the stormy oceans claws. A pale dapple grey with a long ropey windswept main and tail. It seemed as if he could almost blend into the sea foam and disappear before your eyes. And her eyes, they held a certain hypnotic stare. Grey orbs calling,beckoning...she was so lonely. Kyra could feel it in her bones.
Soon after, Kyra and her family moved inland. “As far from the coast as possible” her mother had told her. Many years later, on her 16th birthday, Kyra’s father bought her a single glistening pearl to remind her of the ocean she so dearly loved when she was a little girl. The moment that pearl touched her flesh, she could feel it again. Feel it deep in the marrow of her bones. The ponies grey eyes calling her to the ocean, beckoning her to "it"…
I might continue this story at some point but for now its all i've got. <(^-^)>
