I love African Grey parrots, and really wanted one for a long time. I saw that you like birds as well, so I themed an entry with their color scheme. You also liked black, white, and some unnatural coloring with natural coloring, so I thought this would fit a few things you liked

Though, I will be making another entry because I am not confident this will get me in a high place in the contest.

Oooh, I love Greys.... they're among my favourite parrots. Not to mention that I love the colour scheme on this.
Rather than making another entry I think it'd be super cool if you added some more markings to this fellow (maybe in the red?) and some accessories.... that's look really stunning.
But I like this guy a whole lot, thanks so much for entering!

I would not know what to add to the red. I would not want him to look less like the bird. But I will add something I think may compliment.

EDIT: Added to his markings. I love these markings because they can be for both male and female, making this character design able to adapt to whatever you'd like. I also think it resembles feathers well.

;u; Wow, those are super duper pretty, aaaaaaah.
And I understand not wanting to ruin the semblance to the bird. Maybe you could add a simple back marking or some matching accessories. Either way it's your design, and of course you should do what you want with it, I just think a couple more unique touches would make it stand out more.
But seriously, I really really love this guy.

I was thinking about adding the same design to the back, but I did not want to overdo it. I may be adding accessories, but its still in thought. I couldn't think of what accessory would really fit this little one. I put a lot of thinking into these types of things.

Yeah, that's understandable too, it's always good to be careful not to do this.
If I'm allowed to give some specific suggestion a wing-type marking on the back and some red feather accessories might add to the african grey look, but if you thin that's too much it's fine.
I'm sorry if I seem at all, pushy, I'm just getting a little over-excited about this character already!

Haha! I already had an idea for some tail accessories including feathers! I love that you mentioned it. Means I am on the right track.
I have done wing markings only once, and it fit my character, so I don't know if I could do it on this character since I only know one way.

And yeah, wing markings can be a bit hard. No need to step out of your comfort zone.

The feather is a bit larger than I intended, and not what I expected, but I love it as an accessory. I really wish I had a tablet so that it could come out neater and as awesome as it is in my head, but sadly I do not. Added red to the nails because the red died at the tail, and some red accents to the ears. Also colored the bottom of the paws. What to do next, I have no idea. And I am brain dead for ideas of another entry.

Oooh, looks great, Nikki! No need to make another entry if you don't want to, although colourlovers.com has a lot of really nice palettes and you could also base one loosely off another type of bird if you do make another.
