The contest ended on the 5th per my first page, so sorry, even though this is very good, and really only the second entry that did their own lines, it doesn't qualify for the competition.

I also notice that you have a very good grasp of anatomy and drawing lines, drawing in itself, etc. This competition, although I did state it was for people with no intermediate drawings, is really for beginners and people who want tips and critiques and red lines from an experienced artist. It's not about the prizes and really not for someone with your level of experience, although I am sure some entered just for the prizes and have learned elsewhere. I can think of a couple of people who I allowed to enter that fit in to the experienced category.

I will give you a critique though because I am doing this on all my entries even though yours won't qualify.

1. I like how you incorporated his coloration into the background and your overall quality. I think it would look nicer if you put a pupil and a light dot in the eyes. They are just orbs and it detracts from the overall affect of a nice line art. Also the earphones are way too bulky and the headband too long. Although they are very realistic (nicely done), they would be smaller with a shorter headband and the head band would be much narrower. In my experience with dogs, your positioning of the headphones would put the back side one as not being able to be seen from the front. Overall though it is a very nice piece and will make you a nice fursona.

I am going to go ahead and judge now. I did make a notice in my signature and on the first page that I was on vacation and would judge when I got back.

thanks for the tips..I entered this only for fun so im not disapointed but can say i am a bit sad i didnt make it in time...And i was self taught..Just studied and studied and drew since i was two yah know.But i never thought my art was that goo either

Yes, I understand. I've been drawing since about that age but concentrated on horses and never drew anything else til 4th grade when I drew an eagle for a cover on a report. There was so much compliments that it got displayed in the front of the school and from then on, I just started branching out. I can draw pretty much anything given a reference now. We all know how easy it is to get a reference on the internet.

Sorry about the missed opportunity. I may hold another contest in a few months, also for beginners and non-winning entries will be allowed to compete as long as they didn't make intermediate in the mean time.

Here is a score for you, I will post it up front in a moment. I'm going to the event page first, it's my 30 minute time.

Creativity 40% possible: 30 It just isn't that unique or creative. There are tons of tiger stripes on c.s.
Composition: 30% possible: 25 Well drawn, very good anatomy but wolves have thicker legs and the belly line is off, this is more coyote like... it does remind me of Wile E. Coyote from Loony Tunes.
Originality: 25% possible: 20 again with the simple tiger stripes it's not that original. if there is stuff in the black, I cannot see it due to my monitor... discussed below in following rules.
Following rules: 5%. 2 because of the late entry, if I had allowed it I would have deducted for rule being broken. You also used a black base after I clearly stated on the first page not to use black as a base, so a second rule was broken, ultimately what made me not allow it in the competition.
Overall score: 77 would have been an 80 if all rules had been followed and possibly even an 85 if a black base had not been used after being clearly posted as "do not use a black base, I cannot see it."

And i forgot to mention...It based off an arabian wolf,. so her body is meant to be like that
