Donald

I was having fun but it decided to post before I was finished, so I guess it's bedtime for me, lol. Anyhow here's a peek at least. I'll have it done before the contest is over.

Finished up. Meet Donald. This smooth character is so very hipster although he wouldn't admit it if you asked him. He's stylin with his courier bag and soft velvety plaid scarf and don't forget the classic vintage Ray Ban sunglasses.
If you want it, I have a layer for the full face glasses. They are Ray Ban tiger style... the ones that have orange, yellow, black and brown all kind of mingled together. The courier bag is of course a Frietag and I thought the plaid scarf worked nicely with the bag. :D
EDIT: OMG, HOW COULD I FORGET THE HIPSTER HAIR. I fixed it, 2 little dreadlock type braids and the rest is an unruly mess with orange frost.

On the color dot refs... left to right the 1st 3 are body colors. The second 3, 4 if you include the white are the bag and scarf and the third set of dots is the markings. The lower 2 dots (white only used to pop out the dark color) are the paw pads which are the only bright, not washed out (sepia) part on the whole work. :D

The work looks complicated but it was easy to do the base. The only tools I used were pencil (in various sizes), dodge (Only on the glasses to get the yellow and orange shades of the tiger) and smudge. I changed the opacity on the shading to I think 42? and added a shadow layer for more depth. To get the cat stripe affect I took the darkest color and put it down in size 2 line wherever I wanted a stripe or spot, and then ran a size 2 smudge back and forth over it in the lay of the hair. After it looked "furry" I ran a size 1 smudge through it until I liked it and then a final run over with the blur very quickly.

I am very open to allowing edits of this, if you have anything at all you would like edited, let me know.

I'm glad you like it. The timer is off by at least 2 hours while I made and ate dinner and watched CSI.

I'd be happy to put on some male jewelry if you'd like, maybe a nose ring or ear studs/plugs. I also had thought about leg snuggies (high colorful stockings or leggings) but thought it might be too much.

Hey there. I changed the scarf color, added earrings and was in process of adding middle tone leather cuffs with braids on them similar to these, but my computer decided to kick me off of Oekaki so I will do them on Friday. I know it closes on Saturday:

I hope you're liking Donald, I'm having fun learning about the newer hipster culture my generation used to call hippies.

All done. I added the cuffs but couldn't get the stitching to look right so I made it a cut out instead. A diamond cut out. I hope you enjoy Stanley as much as I enjoyed creating him.

Equid.

P.S. You can change his name, that's just what came to mind.

It wasn't too difficult, I have an eye for detail. I made the basic rectangle where stitching would be, then just colored it in. I used separate layers for the strap and the designer tag. I think it's 4 layers all together and to get the shading I didn't use normal shading style, I used a second greyer shadowy color and smudge in a rounding stroke.

Hope this helps.
