Shiro is Japanese word for white. The kanji on his forehead (白) is the Japanese character for shiro (and thus for white)
In his footprints, there are the kanji 一 (one), 二 (two), 三 (three) and 四 (four).

Here is my second entry, a samurai wolf named Shiro.
