Welcome to the Carnival Feathox Artist Tryouts!
Carnival Feathoxes (CFXs) are a new species which is naturally looking for a few new artists to help out. Artists will naturally get a few perks such as an increased CFX limit and, after a set time, a custom, but their main job is to help create brand new designs for adoption. They are also expected to participate in events and the community, sharing ideas and making suggestions to help the species go forward.
Before you hit that 'ColorMeIn' button please be sure to read the rules below very carefully. If you're not familiar with CFXs then please follow the link above that says 'Main Thread'. You'll learn all you need to know about CFXs there ^^
As this is an ongoing competition, there is currently no set date. Artists of all levels and experience are welcome to try out.
Rules
1. All rules from the Main Thread apply.
2. Please fully fill out the form provided below and send it to myself (BritasticGremlin) BEFORE you start designing. As soon as you've sent it then you may start designing; there's no need to wait for a reply from me.
3. Please be sure to read and follow the artist guidelines for designing listed below.
4. Try to be original with your designs - don't copy another design.
5. There is no limit as to how many designs you may create; just bear in mind that I am after quality, not quantity. Designs can be as simple or as complicated as you like.
6. You may not keep any CFXs you have designed. You may however keep the actual design itself and instead transfer it to another species later on, if you wish.
Artist Info & Guidelines
1. Please roughly stick to the species' specifications when designing. Remember that females have their own specific lines and generally have simpler designs and more natural/darker colours. Males again have their own lines, have sabre fangs and are generally very brightly coloured with any variation of markings. In terms of colour, however, there are always exceptions to the rules. Absolutely no neon or painfully bright colours. Natural colours (browns, whites, reds, etc) are most common, either with or without bright markings.
2. Please use lock alpha when colouring. I will be judging designs on how neatly they are coloured, among other things.
3. You may add additional feathers to the crowns if you like, or draw entirely new ones if you'd prefer. Just remember that males have more feathers and protruding fangs and females don't.
4. Please keep your entries neat and organised by creating all your designs under a single cover post. You can do this by clicking 'ColorMeIn' on this thread, designing your cover however you like, and then saving and posting.
5. There are 3 types of Artist; Full-time, Ghost and Guest. Please be sure to read the descriptions and choose which you think you'd be better suited for when filling out the form. These positions are not set in stone; if your circumstances change later then you may switch roles.
Full-time; Full-time artists are the main artists, who try to create adopts at least once a week. Perfect for very active artists who can spend plenty of time on designs and want to be active community members.
Ghost; Ghost artists are artists who only make a few adopts per month. Perfect for artists with limited free-time or artistic muse. Expected to still involve themselves in the community.
Guest; Guest artists are temporary artists who only make a set number of designs before coming off the staff roster.
May apply again later if they like, or can continue to later become either a Full-time or Ghost artist.
Remember to fill this in and PM it to me BEFORE you start designing.
