The emotion portrayed here is one of heartbreak, aching sorrow. When I saw her, I was immediately drawn to the tear stain-like markings on her cheek. In my opinion, this gives off a sense of longing. This pose isn't complicated. It shows the emotions she tries to push out of her mind, but they return every day to haunt her.
