The Scorpileos live in a thick part of the Amazon Rainforest, one not ever reached by man, building large nests in the treetops. They are sociable animals, living in large groups of up to thirty individuals. They hunt and eat small rodents, birds, fish and some small primates.
Within a Scorpileo Scatter (group) there are:
Guardians of the Stings - The leaders of the Scatter; their orders are followed, and they and their kin are respected. They are mates. If one dies the other usually resigns, although, if they are young, they may take another mate within the next River cycle.
Sharpstings - These scorpileos excell at fighting, and they patrol and guard the nests and territory of the scatter. They also keep watch for Eagles and Leopards when the Swiftstings are hunting.
Swiftstings - The hunters of the scatter; these scorpileos are only trained in basic defence moves.
Neststings - Mothers with young Stinglets, confined the their birthnest.
Dullstings - Trainee scorpileos. They recieve two trainees (one from the Sharpstings, one from the Swiftstings) when they are first Sharpened, and, after one River Cycle of training, must choose a path. They must be at least Two River Cycles old.
Stinglets - Scorpileos too young to be Sharpened.
Healingstings - Heal the injured and ill of the Scatter, with their knowledge of the medicinal herbs of the rainforest. Any mates they take must be willing to give up ordinary duties and become Healingstings. Their kits are always brought up as Healingstings.
Wisestings - retired scorpileos.

River Cycle - As the Amazon floods each year, the Scorpileos use One River Cycle as a measure of time, as it is roughly six months between the floods rising, and then it returning to it's original level. One river cycle is either the rising or the falling of the floods.
Sharpening - this is the term used for a young scorpileo's ceremony, where it transfers from being a Stinglet, to being a Dullsting.
Sting - this is the term used for an induvidual scorpileo.
They tend not to have distinct shapes - heart, for example - but it can be a rough shape, so long as that exists in nature.
