a really dumb idea i had that wILL NEVER COME TRUE
random thoughts below, it's kinda jumbled and stupid.
So, this species is a type of mammal based off a bunny. The most distinguishable detail about them is that they always have multiple legs, and they produce a very rich black ink, which spurts from their source of power (ears, eyes, tail, etc.). The eyes of this species is always black, and their feet are always spouting ink as well. Multiple artists have used them for their pieces, allowing them to walk across the painting for a smeared effect.
You can easily tell where one has been walking, it always leaves a trail of ink behind it. Because of the easy spotting, many hunters have almost hunted it extinct. (It's basically a walking gold mine.)
They gain power (how much ink it can produce) by bathing in another of their species's ink. When enough ink has been taken in, their coat will blacken more. The blacker a coat of this species is, the more ink they will be able to produce.
Surprisingly, the coat seems to repel both natural ink and it's own ink, so it will rarely get dirty.
They can eat berries, fruits, raw meat, and eggs. Occasionally if starving they will eat their own eggs.
While they do not fight or are able to defend themselves, the foul tasting ink that covers its body will ward away predators. The blood is black, by the way.
They can mate with both a male or a female of their own kind, and will be mates for life. Either gender can lay eggs, and lays about 1-2 eggs at a time. The egg design itself varies, however it is usually very plain. Mutant eggs have been found with red designs, and will not survive to hatch.
As to why they have multiple legs, scientists are not sure. (aka i was too lazy to think of a reason,)
And, um, they aren't too smart.
