Royal Domestic Drake
The royal domestic drake is a small species of wingless dragon. They only get up to 7" tall at the shoulder, and 2'4" in length. They move in a quick, ferret-like motion, moving on all 4 paws. They can stand on their hind legs, usually to look around or reach something, but can not move in this stance. They are equipped with two, short horns, small, rounded ears, and 5 toes on each foot. They do not have claws, so rely on constriction, their horns, and their sharp, dagger like teeth for protection. They have a furry tail tip, and fur on their ankles and elbows. They also have a mane of fur running down to the base of their tail.

They are a domesticated species, and not found in the wild. They are rather intelligent, but are not able to speak in tongues. They communicate with a series of chirps, clicks, and growls. When agitated, they have been known to ignite themselves on fire. However, because of the chemical their skin is covered in, they can not be burned. Many are born with the natural ability to use magiks, being able to manipulate fire or lightening.

They often like to be with their owners, perching on their shoulders and growling at passerby's. They make excellent companion animals, being more wise and intelligent than any dog or cat.

They can live for up to 85 years. Breeding season is late winter to early spring. Unlike most species, it is the female who does the courting. Several females will usually seek out the most dominant males, staying with them for as long as they are in heat. The male will breed them, then usually chase them away, not wanting to be bothered by the silly girls. In Early Summer, the female, having been bred, will lay a clutch of up to 3 eggs. The eggs are palm-sized and pearl-shaped, usually being silver to white in coloration. After 3 months of incubation, the eggs will hatch, and the female will care for her new young until they are the age of 5 years.
