Okay,so how is someone supposed to know something is copy righted without researching or being told this? First of all,this is not even her character,and second,its a NAME! Who cares about a name! Lots of people use the name Jayheart on things,but why do you lash out at her?

Um, does your Jayheart look completely identical to this one? Because I've seen at least three different OC's that belong to people with the name "Ray". It isn't the character's name that's copyrighted, it's the character that is copyright.

Thanks, guys. And Dot, Shade, you're both right. It's not the name, it's the charcter that is copyrighted. If you knew how many characters are named Moss....

@Animals, I never asked for her to know that it was copyright and I didn't expect her to. And by the way, I refuse to take a person seriously who tells me out by using terms from a fictional book.


@Everyonke who said names don't matter, the design does. Your wrong. Common names such as Bob, Ray, Moss, Spot, or Sparky have been used so much, that there is no point. Special, unique names that took you hours to think of should be copyrighted. Design is not the only hard thing when it comes to making a character, names matter too.

Second, it is a name, and it does matter alot. What if someone walked up to you and said "Your name is ugly, I'll call you it from now on." You'd be a little irritated wouldn't you? Third, I didn't lash out, I confronted. There's a difference. Ive never in my life seen another JayHeart, that's why I confronted her.

I'm not trying to cause a problem, but I googled Jayheart catand got 16,200 Results. I looked at some of them and all the Jayhearts looked different. I don't know much about the Warrior books or their names but I would think that the name Jayheart would be relitively common because of how lovely it sounds. I also searched up Jayheart on the forums.
Again, I am not trying to cause a problem, but I just want to tell you what I found.

It took you hours to think of the name Jayheart? My friend came up with it in two minutes... And, I speak with terms from books all the time. I don't expect you to take that part seriously, but I expect you to take me seriously. And thank you Tigress, I know the name Jayheart is popular. But my friend liked it so she stuck with it, even though there's about 16,200 of them out there. You're not causing a problem, well, not with me at least, but some other people may think otherwise. And, I agree, it is lovely sounding. :3
