Pepper looked into Spade's green eyes. He had come out of nowhere, and Pepper had never felt better. As the brown and black male strolled up to her, the she-wolf felt her heart racing. She had always had a crush on the warrior wolf, but she had neer told anyone. He finally came until he was inches away from her nose; she could feel his steady breathing.
"Um...hello, Spade," Pepper greeted the male, trying difficultly to keep her voice normal. The boy was staring into her eyes, and Pepper had to admit that it made her kind of nervous. Pepper wished she had taken the time to straighten out her fur, make sure she was sitting in the right, comfortable position, but she wasn't. Spade moved closer, now less than a centimeter away.
"Hello," he whispered. "I need to tell you something." Pepper sighed in her mind. Just get on with it! her mind urged, hating all the suspense.
"I love you." The words echoed into the woods, even though they had only been a whisper.
Her reply said it all.
"I love you, too."
