It was a cold winters night. All the dogs were sleeping except for the mother. She was looking outside the dog kennels. Her puppies were sleeping next to her. The father was sleeping in a corner with one of the puppies.

A van pulls in. It was around 3 am. The mother pretended to sleep. She eavesdropped on the humans.

"I love how you organized the puppy mill Dan."
"Yeah yeah. Why are you here?"
"I wanted to get a puppy for my daughter. To celebrate her first thanksgiving."
"Thats nice. Well. Lets go in the barn."

They walked over to the barn. Then he picked out one of the pups. She started wagging his tail back and forth.

"Ill take this one. Namin' him shatzee."
"Thats good. One less to worry about finding a home."
"Yoy got that right. Bye."

Shatzee looked over at her family. She smiled at them. They all smiled back. And then they drove off.

He never saw them for along time, but he understood why. They all had a great home five months later. A few years later, the owners got together and let the grown pups play together. The mom and dad smiled and cuddled together.
