She sat in the wooden gazebo that had been in existence long before she was born. She stared over the beach and unseen ocean, which only gave away its location from the sound of waves, to the sky above. It was dark and light at the same time; pur black with so many twinkling stars gazing down at the world below.
She sighed, recalling all of the times they had had together at this very location; those times were many, but only a few when compared to all of the places the couple had been and all of the things they had done.
But those things would never happen again. It would take more than a miracle to bring him back, and it was nearly impossible that would happen. He was gone and only memories of him were left.
But not even those seemed to be lasting. As time passed and life moved on new memories were made. It almost seemed they were replacing his. He was no longer always on her mind. Others were, and when he did come to mind she shed merely a tear and then shrugged it off, not wanting to upset herself.
Being here, now, was still extremely painful. There was nothing that could make her hurt more than thinking about the years she spent believing, no, knowing, that she had her soulmate, only to have him taken away from her, not even returning in dreams.
^probably poorly written, but I'm too lazy to edit, and it just seemed to fit.
Anyway, this is all based on a story I have and whatnot, and I don't intend on explaining it all. Not yet, anyway, maybe one day.
