X3 Some random character I made up on the spot, though I do like his design c: Anyways, since I am bored, I'm going to accompany this picture with a quick little story.
Scrap felt a growl rise up in his throat as he watched his 'master' walk outside and give him some food before returning back into his large den...that was all he ever did. Scrap's mother had always talked to him about how 'kind' and 'loving' their master was before she died and Scrap had never had the heart to tell his sickly mother the truth...that their master was an cruel, neglectful human who only fed Scrap so that he would get big enough to go into the dog fights. Getting up slowly on tired leg Scrap stumbled forward towards the bowl of nasty dry kibble and ate the pitiful excuse for food slowly, the dogfood tasting like ash in the young dog's mouth. For a few moments all Scrap heard was the loud crunch of food echoing through his mind then, after he'd stopped chewing, he noticed another sound...the sound of claws scraping against the wooden fence that enclosed him. Curious, Scrap placed his hind paws on the wooden fence and just barely managed to bring himself high enough to look over and he was surprised to find a young female pitbull who was mainly white with black splotches. "Who are you?" Scrap asked in an aggressive tone...he'd never met any other dogs besides his mother. The pit seemed surprised at his voice and jumped back before looking up at Scrap, her shocked expression melting into a friendly grin.
"I'm Feral, you're average neighboorhood stray...who are you?" She asked, her voice kind and gentle. Scrap was confused by this...he'd expected a stray to be more hostile.
"I'm...Scrap." He answered, his voice sounding startled.
"Oh...so you're Scrap. I heard how your master treats you, but then again what else can you expect of a human." Feral answered Scrap, her voice carrying a tone of pity.
"How do yo-" Scrap's voice was cut off as something smashed against the wooden fence, the sound followed by the angry shouts of Scrap's master yelling at him to get off the fence. "I have to go..." He sighed, his voice weary.
"Here." Feral barked, her tone still happy as she jumped onto the fence to pass a small orange flower over to Scrap's side.
"Uh...thanks." He replyed after a moment's hesitation, only to find that the pitbull was gone. As Scrap's master yelled again Scrap jumped away from the fence and looked at the flower on the ground. Suddenly all the pain, anger, and sadness he'd felt over the years all bubbled up at once and he let out a furious snarl as he smashed his paw down onto the flower's stem, breaking it. "I'll get out of here one day..." He growled angrily.
