Light Roan - rs
- Based on Siamese cats. The roan is a white or near-white color. The foal is born completely white, with the face and legs darkening with age.

Dark Roan - rb
- Based on Burmese cats. The roan is a lighter shade of the body color, but not that much lighter. The foal is born the color of the roan, with the face and legs darkening with age.

Mixed Roan - rsrb
- Based on Tonkinese cats. This roan only occurs when both Light and Dark roan are inherited. The shade is a mix between Light and Dark roan. The foal is born the color of the roan, with the face and legs darkening with age.

White Roan - rc
- This roan lightens the entire coat. The typical roan portion is white or near white in color and the base coat is also lightened.
- Recessive to No Roan

Reverse Roan - rr
- This roan darkens the typical roan area instead of lightening it. On bay, the roan is darkened to the color of the points or a dark brown. Chestnut is darkened to a brown color. Black has a black roan portion and the areas where the base color would normally be is colored the same as where the roan would normally be.
