Charlette is a girl who people might call a stray. She is eight by now and has never been in school since her father died when she was six. Yes, she is an orphan and lives with the "typical" mean step mother that almost all the princesses have. Like Cinderella. Well during the day she goes around town looking for small jobs that she can do. At night, she goes the garbage. No one knows her name, age, birthday, or feelings.
Here she is, not wanting to go to her mother because she is badly hurt on her heel. She had stepped into something and now it was bleeding. Her step mother always makes her suffer, so why would she help now? She takes each of the steps up to the door slowly. She sighs and takes a deep breath. And then she knocks.
