Pup 1: Ah, I wasn't watching where I put my sketches and a lot of #2 is covering them,,, oops. They are based on a Striped Marlin, and I love how their stripes turned out! They were originally going to have the iconic sword-like nose but.. it kinda looked really dumb lol. A short spike looked good too, but I eventually went with the piercing and it seemed to fit the look. They're also based on having the position of the cook, because every ship's full of hungry bellies, and somebody's got to do the job! I also said I wouldn't do the most obvious design choices, so here's the never before used burly cook, but I knew I wanted to get a little more creative with their body types so eh, I enjoy it! I especially like the sharp white against the deep blue, very pleasing to the eye
Pup 2: Have you ever heard of a Dragon Eel? This is what this kiddo is based on, and they've been some of my favorite marine creatures for awhile now. I love their coloring especially, and I thought it fit the theme quite well! I saw them in the position of either The Quartermaster or the Boatswain, so I gave them a second in command looking coat. I love the rich purple, that with the gold is just <3
Also, now that I'm looking at it, the second pup's eye is looking a tad off so I'm gonna hop back in and see if I can fit it, but I'll put it on a different layer in case you like it the way it is now!
Edit: MUCH better idk what I was thinking letting that get past me, it's fixed!
