Once upon a time there was a little black dog named Rex. One day Rex decided to take swimming lessons "You're hopeless!", shouted the swimming teacher when Rex failed yet again to kick his legs in the right way. "I give up!", the teacher said. "But I'm trying my best!", replied Rex. He stormed away from the pool. He walked and walked till he came to a small but very deep lake. "Hmph! I'll swim to the bottom of this lake and everyone will think I'm the best swimmer of them all!" he declared. Little did he know that this was a cursed lake and those who swam in it were never seen again. He plunged into the icy waters and feebly tried to swim to the bottom. The waters started to close in on him and he struggled to hold his breath, he felt like his chest would burst. Then he was slipping into darkness all was silent and he slipped away. Rex's ghost haunts the lake to this day, he has seen many dog and cats alike their lives taken away from the waters in the lake.
