the ancient kingdom//
the kingdom was born when the first stars shone in the sky, before even the
first day came. the world in which it was born into was young and pure, and
the kingdom kept it so. it was ruled with benevolence and heart, by a soul
full of wit and love. the king kept balance between the dark and the light,
blessing life and honoring death. he kept the pain at bay and let contentment
reign. his castle was one of nature's making, caverns lined with precious crystals
and veined with quartz. he had no throne, and talked among the common lives
as if they were kin. all was in health.

the end of ages//
the king fell sick and a darkness spread across the kingdom, consuming joy and
leaving pain and sorrow in its wake. the land became infertile and dry, and no
rain fell upon the world. the dying king channeled his soul into a single precious
jade fragment, and prayed that one day a worthy one, pure of heart and good in
spirit, would find the soul and pull the land out of darkness. all was in pain.

the rebirth//
a young ruler is hard to come by, especially one who was not raised to be a king.
the new king discovered the caverns of old and took up the jade, accepting his
responsibility and duty to the world he had come to hate. it was burning, cold,
dark and full of pain. trials and terrors over years of fighting in the dark allowed
for a return to light, and the land was returned to the beauty it once held. the
sun came up again, bright white light shattering the shadows. the dark was still
there, will always be there, but happiness reigned once more. all was in light.
