Larimar served as a soldier

for Yellow Diamond, and fought against
the Crystal Gems in the Gem War. Ulti-
mately, her gem was cracked, and bec-
ause of it she was left behind on the g-
em battlefield. She tried to get back to
Homeworld by building a ship(due to h-
er technology based nature), but failed
and remained on the gem battlefield u-
ntil the Crystal gems found her. Steven
healed her(with some arguments from
Pearl, since they fought against each
other during the gem war), and they
brought her to Beach City(Steven want-
ed to make sure she was okay). Since
then, she's been trying to return back
to Homeworld, often mercilessly trying
to fight her way off Beach City. She ha-
sn't yet beat the Crystal Gems, and has
been unable to return to Homeworld.
The Crystal Gems refuse to let her win
because she would ultimately report to
Yellow Diamond and have them broken.
