I'm also thinking about switching Math's storyline around and having him be a survivor only due to robotic implants - 'cause the more I think about it the more I feel like he should have died quickly due to him having a nonfunctioning leg. Even though he's gotten used to using a leg brace, he's had one all his life, it still can't function quite like a normal leg would and that puts him at a disadvantage. So since that doesn't quite fit I'm going to have him volunteer to be a test subject for the terminator project. He doesn't know it's a test - he gets it done before Judgment Day - but is able to walk away successfully from the surgery.
