The Mustangs and The Quarter horses (No Posting)

War-Cry trotted through the dry grass, following his sire and the mares of Warrior's herd. War-Cry was a three year old, he was lucky, most colts were kicked out at two years but War-Cry obeyed Warrior's wishes. Spending his last days with the herd he was born into before he had to leave and make his own paths, his own herd. He would easily find mares for a herd of his own, his buckskin coat was like gold and his white markings made him very attractive, even man seemed to deem his coat worthy of capture and training, he had found that as a young foal, many times had been caught with his dam but had always been lucky to escape before branding.
Promise stood in her green, even grassed paddock that she had grown up in. She had grown in safety and human contact was all she had known, she had only ever known safety behind those fence lines and in her air conditioned stall. She was the ranch favourite and was spoilt by the masters little children, she was their best friend, the little kids always rode her in the watchful eyes of their father. She was always used for night watch, she was a strong, fast, brave and courageous mount for the ranch workers and even her master, she was his favourite after all.
On this day, War-Cry and his sire's herd had been spotted by a ranch hand riding the beautiful young Promise. She responded to little leg aid and moved quietly through the bushy scrub surrounding the little flat where the mustangs grazed. "Ah, we got pests near the south eastern boarder. Looks about 15-20 horses, mostly mares and foals. Over." the ranch hand spoke quietly to the boss over the two-way. "Right, i'm in my way, Jack. Over and out." the Master was coming, now all Promise had to do was stay calm until Henry, her master, came over on Orion.
Orion cantered up the opposite side of the hill, pulling up to a walk as he made his way carefully to where Promise was, they had a great look out onto where the mustangs were, an advantage point if you would like to say. "Hey Promise, ready to catch these intruders?" asked Orion, nudging the two year old filly that stood beside him. "Yep, i'm ready. Eat my dust!" she joked as she felt the spurs jab into her sides, sending her flying.
Promise snorted as she jumped a little gully, heading straight for thee herd of horses, chewing on her bit as she lined up with several other Quarter horses used to round up the wild horses. The filly could here orders being shouted at every direction but she was too concentrated on the wild horses to comprehend what was being said but gaining speed as she felt her riders legs grip tighter, quickly she wheeled the horses to the left, back towards the ranch.
War-Cry galloped in the edge of the horses, only coming back to reality as Promise, the bay filly galloped up beside him, her neck arched and still had speed to gain. He was instantly in love...but one problem, she was a tame horse, but that didn't matter to him, he would have her no matter what! WIP
