[The wild one]

"Wait!" John called to the young woman's receding back. "You're just gonna walk away from me? Even after I res-"
He was cut off by a searing pain in his face. He felt the bones in his cheek fracture from the blow. He fell back, his hand holding the wounded part of his face. He looked up at the woman, who was now glaring at him, her golden eyes glowing in the dim light.
"Leave me alone, you filthy fleshling," she spat. John frowned at the name.
"Fleshling? Why are you insulting your own race, woman?" he said, getting to his feet. The woman looked extremely insulted.
"How dare you!? I am not some simple-minded evolved ape!" she howled, her lip curling. John backed away when he saw she had longer-than-average canines.
"Easy," he said, holding his hands up. The woman turned.
"I am not human, and I will not sink to their level," she hissed. John raised an eyebrow.
"If you're not human, then what are you?" he asked. The woman turned, pulling herself to her full height--nearly six-and-a-half feet, and flared her nostrils.
"I am Hieli, second daughter of the great Zorro. I am a Cainid," she said.

Hieli and John are my human/Cainid hybrid character's(Sam) parents. Hieli hates John when they first meet, but she eventually warms up to him, and not too long after that, Sam is born. When they first meet, Hieli is using something called "holomatter" so that she can take the form of a human. The scientists that were working on her did it to her, sothat she would be easier to control.
