Your first version is perfectly fine, Although I feel like the right hind paw(Hind, In the back) Is bigger than the rest of the leg. Add some more chest and leg fur, lines on the body and tail (like your sketch) I highly recommend doing your tail as curled up or down, not in between the legs. Round off the paws instead of Curving the ends up. Make a rounder nose, but sharper chin. Make sure also to add that natural shoulder hunch that all dogs have. Hope this helps!!
